It's an exciting time for us at Wicked Fox Games We have an upcoming Kickstarter surrounding our initial game with a 2025 planned launch (sign up for Kickstarter notifications here https://lnkd.in/g_hZAXJg ) We also have some very exciting deals in the works with three major publishers that are super hush-hush, but I'm sure you'll be hearing about them in the years to come. We're in this for the long haul. In the last few months, the most rewarding part of the studio for me has been seeing so many people join us on our journey and allowing me to help them grow in their careers. Mentorship is an important pillar of our studio, and I'm serious about honing the crafts and careers of veterans as well as empowering growing voices in our industry. We're still at the start of our ride, but that rollercoaster is JUST about at the top of the hill. In the next 2-3 months, to quote Anakin Skywalker, "This is where the fun begins."

"We need to talk, I have news," are words I've come to dread as a pre-seed startup game studio founder. When times were hard in the industry, ICs dreaded their manager coming to them with those words. As a founder, I dread hearing it from my foxes helping with the studio. Times are hard, and people need money. I won't deny them that. I congratulate them on finding a paying job and help them any way I can. Does it sting and interrupt my roadmap, it can, but health and family ALWAYS come first. What I've heard time and time again, though, is, "I believe in this studio, what it stands for, and you and Terry as founders." That's amazing. We're building something amazing at WFG. I'm staking everything on this studio and the amazing games we have planned for y'all. Our announced first to market is a PvP Match 3 mashup with deep lore and a massive IP waiting to be tapped in future projects. But we're not a "match 3" studio. Close on its heels is something COMPLETELY different. All we need, is a little support to light this rocket. Please follow our upcoming Kickstarter project. When I was little, we were poor and I was sick with asthma frequently. Many times I'd be stuck at home in a makeshift croup tent as I gasped for breath trying to breath medicated steam. The doctors told my parents I couldn't go outside if it was less than 70F or I risked another attack. Sometimes, I'd miss entire months of school. In 1982, I was gifted my first computer. A Texas Instruments TI-99/4A, and my first computer game, Pirate Adventure, a text adventure game. Suddenly, I wasn't alone in the tent. Suddenly, I wasn't missing out while every other kid got to play outside. Suddenly, I was in a world of gaming, and I was hooked for life. Within the year I went from being a player to a game creator. I sketched out grids on notepads, made ASCII rocket ships that scrolled up the screen in BASIC, and wrote my own little text adventures. A few years later on the Commodore 128 I learned sprite manipulation made a rudimentary side scroller. Gaming is my life, my passion, and my salvation. It is my great hope that Wicked Fox Games can transport others into a magical gaming world and give hope and inspiration through imagination. Tomorrow is the Backend Hang podcast!
