Pump & Pantry is expanding its partnership with sandwich QSR Quiznos to an additional six locations, the companies announced on Wednesday. The Nebraska-based convenience retailer first partnered with Quiznos in 2022, opening four “highly successful” co-located restaurants, according to the announcement. East Coast convenience retailer Onvo has debuted its private label fuel offering and first branded gas station, according to a July 8 company announcement. As it debuts its private label fuel offering, the retailer has also brought Relay Payments’ fuel payment technology to 22 of its locations this week.t. https://lnkd.in/eTuQaeKf

SQRL founder Blake Smith and one of his former associates have been accused of forging title documents for at least two convenience stores, according to court filings in Palm Beach County, Florida; and in Lonoke County and Saline County, Arkansas. https://lnkd.in/ewRVhTwz

For the most part, the first half of 2024 unfolded in line with expectations for the c-store industry. Retailers continued to boost their foodservice offerings and technology capabilities, M&A shifted more to small and mid-sized operators, and the evolution of loyalty programs became a sole focus for operators. Zuber Issa, co-CEO of EG Group, has launched a new gas station brand in the U.K., EG On The Move, according to a Tuesday announcement and a source familiar with the situation. Rutter's has begun working on its first convenience store in Virginia, a company spokesperson confirmed on Tuesday. The store is expected to be open by next summer. The site, at the intersection of Route 50 and Coverstone Drive in Winchester, Virginia, is currently the only site Rutter’s has under contract in the state. https://lnkd.in/exMJzFBg

There’s no missing the big changes in the convenience store industry over the past few years. Companies like Wawa and Buc-ee’s are forging their way to new states, while others such as Mountain Express and Foxtrot have gone bankrupt. Kwik Trip, Inc. Trip will break ground on a new distribution center in DeForest, Wisconsin, on July 10, the company announced last week. The 280,000-square-foot facility is one of several planned uses for a 150-acre plot of land the convenience retailer purchased in March for $14 million, according to local reports. https://lnkd.in/eW97ah5A

Alimentation Couche-Tard is in the process of remodeling 80% of its Circle K convenience stores in the U.S. and Canada, Chief Operating Officer Alex Miller said during the company’s fourth-quarter earnings call last month. The upgrades are part of Couche-Tard’s “one-touch” remodel program, which aims to make “slight changes” to the inside of Circle K’s c-stores without having to close each location. https://lnkd.in/ehkj57qk
