Founder & Creative Director at Agency SOS | A faster, better way to smart strategy & effective creative campaigns
7/24/23 UPDATE: Think we're covered for now. Thanks for the portfolios and referrals. Reached out to a few folks and looks like we're all set for this one. Looking for freelance copywriter, art director and designer for a week-long assignment, first week of August. Project requires an older Gen Z/younger Millenial sensibility and aesthetic. Target is 20s. Fashion/lifestyle experience strongly desired (with a portfolio that demonstrates those chops.) U.S.-based creatives only, please. Drop any recos in the comments below. Need links to portfolio. If interested, will reach out. EDIT: Should clarify the design ask: the product look and feel is set, so not looking for identity or branding help. Looking for art/design concepts for ad campaigns. The deliverables will be Round 1 campaign comps to help bring a campaign platform to life and explain the visual approach. Mood board for the campaign, swipe/inspiration, and ad-like objects with visual/product/headline to give a sense of the direction (not final creative at this stage.) #gigalert

It's time to share a bit about who’s behind our creative powerhouse 🚀 Because quite a common question on discovery calls is: "Who's on your team?" While the size of our team might not be the main focus (especially if someone loves to work with the big team), the roles and expertise certainly are. Our core team: 🟡 2x Account managers From concept to completion, they manage all aspects of our ad production projects. 🟡 3x Designers / animators These creative experts, with over 8 years in ad production, handle everything from HTML5 to video animation and ad localization. 🟡 2x Developers Our tech gurus focus on development-heavy projects, mastering HTML, JavaScript, and more. 🟡 1x CEO A jack of all trades overseeing business development and client relations, always ready to lend a helping hand. 🟡 1x Accountant The numbers whiz, keeping track of our finances from invoices to (sometimes late) payments. But there’s more... 🟢 Freelancers: A wide network (built with passion and care) of illustrators, creative directors, and even more animators. 🟢 Partner agencies: Specializing in TV ads, VFX, CGI, media planning, and performance. We collaborate or connect you to the best. Proudly, this well-oiled machine can handle 300+ ad production campaigns annually, and we’re geared up for even more. Our setup is built on care and passion, ensuring efficiency and precision in everything we do ❤️ Godspeed!

My Content Studio has no staff. And here's why... That's right. No staff now. No staff ever. Zero. Zilch. Nada. Hiring staff means taking on fixed overhead. I'd need to train them, pay wages + NI etc, buy equipment, increase insurance... And in return, I'd get a fairly fixed skill set. A copywriter. A graphic designer. A coder. But client projects aren't fixed. They require versatility and massively varied skills. Sure, they may need copy and visuals. But if I hired a fantastic long-form technical copywriter, she may not be keen on short form social content. Similarly, a graphic designer might not do animations. I'd be wasting my resources, and delivering lower quality results to my clients. No bueno. 𝗦𝗼, 𝗜 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝗲𝘅𝗰𝗹𝘂𝘀𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗹𝘆 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗳𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗿𝘀. Some of the best talent out there work for themselves, and that's who I want to work with. Passionate individuals who massively care about their work (and the planet). This means, I can deliver: 🤩 Highly creative work 💷 Keep prices as low as possible ⏰ Scale projects easily as clients need And without a client having to go searching for the best people for the job. #marketing #creative #content

Video podcasting for B2B CEOs & coaches | End-to-end production | Strategic, sustainable, & stress-free video podcasting - all you ever have to do is record, review, and relax
If your business is not in the creative industry, you should consider outsourcing creative talents instead of hiring in-house. (Nope, this is not a "nonchalant" post with a CTA to hire me.) I was a CPA (totally left field of creativity, I know), who became a content repurposing VA, who scaled my services to become an agency owner. Video editors, graphic designers, writers, audio editors, social media managers, project coordinators - name it, we have it. Here's what I learned in 5 years of handling creatives: 1. I was a unicorn and I will never find my clone. What I thought could be done by one person, because I can do it myself as a freelancer, turned out to be a 3-part-time-people kind of job. For example, I used to edit videos, design thumbnails, and write captions for clients BUT that's a rare combo of skills. When I needed to scale, instead of looking for clones, I looked for people proficient in each skill so that their combined output was much better than mine. 2. Common sense is subjective What I thought was "common sense", because it seemed intuitive to me, was actually my combined knowledge and experience that has to be documented and passed on to the new hires. A person I hired for repurposing asked me, "How do I pick the best parts?" I thought to myself, "Isn't that common sense? You'd know it when you hear it." Well obviously, it's not common sense at all. I had to backtrack my steps and put my thought process in a framework that they can use to do the job well. 3. Portfolios aren't THAT reliable Some portfolio items MAY NOT be created by them fully. They could be part of the team that created it and there was a creative director who sent a bunch of revisions their way before it turned into that beautiful masterpiece. It pays to ask, what was your participation in this piece? 4. Not all creatives are built equal Just because someone calls themselves a "video editor" doesn't mean they can edit YOUR videos. Weddings and events video editors have different skills from social media video editors. Motion designers and animators are not the same (did you know?). Layout artists would have different skills from illustrators and other graphic artists. 5. "I don't like it" is not a proper feedback. Because I didn't have formal education in design, I struggled to give feedback to my creatives. I know something was wrong, and something looks off but I can't even pinpoint what it was. I had to widen my creative knowledge and learn to say "The color choice is off because it lacks contrast. Change the background to a lighter tint" instead of "I don't like the colors, can you change it?" This and a whole lot more I can share in the future. Are these experiences relatable? I'd love to hear your thoughts.

I just landed a job(🎬 Creative shorts editor) at KaroStartup😊 Now I'm going to share my strategies, which will help you to land a good job if you are a 🎬video editor, graphic designer, ✍️script writer or a webdeveloper🧑💻 1) Polish your skills : You need to work more on your skills coz in now a days everybody wants to become video editor, webdeveloper, script writer, so In next 2-3 years this space will also become so competitive that you'll be unable to survive but If you'll work hard and work more on your skills definitely you're going uplift your level. 2) Make Portfolio : I worked on my portfolio without thinking about any job I spended 10+ hrs for editing a single short video. I recommend you to edit more English videos, as a webdeveloper can make clones of other popular websites, or a landing page, and create your portfolio with at least 10+ projects. 3) Make Proper profile on LinkedIn : LinkedIn is a good option to search for a job it gives you time to time notification regarding jobs in your niche and try to post your projects on LinkedIn this was the thing that worked for me. 4) Email writing : If you see someone have posted for hiring, try to write an email to him and send him with your CV and portfolio. 5) Instagram: Show your work on Instagram or make reels in your niche definitely you'll be hired by someone. These are some tips you can follow to land a job and always remember "your skills are directly proportional to your salary" :)
