-From the CEO- What’s the story you’re forgetting to tell? For the first four months of 2023, I got the amazing opportunity to go through the Goldman Sachs 10k Small Businesses program. The lessons and expansion as an entrepreneur were many, but the most eye-opening part (and emotional, like you’ll see in this video) was the realization of the story I WASN’T telling. You see, great branding and marketing isn’t just an external act. In fact, great branding and marketing starts with the culture and values that already exist behind the scenes. Rarely do your clients get to see this side of your business, but they should. It was my turn, and I was stumped. One of the Goldman Sachs assignments was to bring an item that represented the culture of my company. I’m not one for tchotchkes. While discussing my complete blank with my assigned business mentor, she asked great questions which drew out something significant that I had completely failed to recognize as a symbolic embodiment of Oh Yes and our growing team. In that moment, she workshopped with me the way I workshop with clients and the outcome- pure goodness! I was asked by a friend today which of our infamous thought leadership reports I was most proud of publishing. While I no doubt love them all (of course!), I’d have to say it was a paper I penned when I first launched Quinlan & Associates about the career path at an investment bank.
