It was so exciting to hear Daniel Dines share more about Agentic AI and how human and AI collaboration will evolve over business processes and how we will see new AI agents capable of assuming higher levels of intelligence. I was honored to share the stage with Chris T. from Microsoft to discuss Gen AI and how it can impact employee engagement and lift organizations. What an incredible evening at Workday’s event last week! 🌟   It was wonderful to reconnect with so many colleagues and friends (hi Angelique de Vries!). The event reminded me of the power of community and the importance of maintaining professional relationships. Events like this are so important to reconnect with and maintain professional relationships. Bill Strahan hired me for my first job, and it’s kind of surreal to be in the same room years later, meeting new friends like Ann Vinci and Michael Rogers and sharing stories. I left feeling inspired and energized, ready to bring new ideas and enthusiasm to my work.   A big thank you to Workday and Carl Eschenbach for organizing such a fantastic event.    #WorkdayCommunity #ProfessionalGrowth

This week, UiPath released the 2024 Global Knowledge Worker Survey, which provides some great insights into how employees around the world use—and perceive—AI and automation. The main headline from my perspective as an HR leader? Despite the overwhelming business value respondents see in using a combination of GenAI and automation, less than half have been offered formal upskilling training or guidelines on how to use GenAI, leading to significant mistrust of the technology across global workforces. But here's what excites me, and what I hope my peers in HR take away from this report as well: we are in a unique position to guide our teams as proof-of-concept case studies for the global workforce about the power and potential of this technology to transform business. We have the opportunity to lead by example starting within our own function. Let's encourage our teams to engage with GenAI trainings and content to upskill intellectual and practical knowledge, let's champion the adoption of AI and automations across the HR enterprise, and let's share our stories with the industry to build trust in this critical technology. I’m proud to share, 50% of our People team has been certified as Citizen Developers in automation, helping us to bring automation and AI into our day-to-day. What do you think? I’m so happy to share the recording of a conversation I had with the Teamraderie Team, Jared Spataro, and Ethan Mollick earlier this week. As Ethan mentions at the beginning, AI is something you need to spend time with and engage with in order to fully grasp. It’s moving so quickly that some of the topics we covered are now almost obsolete! I found the conversation to be very valuable - I thought the mix of live demos, Q&A, and conversation was really engaging. The importance of experimenting with AI, with AI agents, and learning and development to give your employees the right tools to focus on the work they want to do was a key takeaway for me. My key takeaway was that we shouldn’t just think about adding AI to what we already have – we should harness the power of the technology to create differently and embrace innovation to build a better future of work.   The conversation really made me think about HR and our role in AI transformations. Yesterday, I joined the team at Duane Morris LLP for their annual Employment Seminar. They decided to do things a bit differently this year and open with a discussion on how employers can use AI in HR practices. Mary Purk, Greg Vert and I joined our amazing host Caroline Austin to share some insight into everything from defining Generative AI and how it relates to and differs from automation to use cases in recruiting, onboarding, data accuracy. As HR leaders and owners of employee engagement, empowerment, and employee data, it’s key to identify what you’re trying to solve and determine where to start from there. GenAI has the ability to uplift the HR industry, and can make a huge impact on people and teams. It was so inspiring to see how many people are interested in the topic and ready to take the first steps.
