What harm could blinking do? A lot in the context of quantum dots (#QD) and their efficiency. Dr NVS Praneeth’s research delves into the #nanoscale realm to combat the challenges posed by QD blinking. The team has attempted to mitigate the issue using #SurfaceEngineering by creating QDs with enhanced #emissions for various applications visualised using high-end fast #detectors. The research teams include Dr NVS Praneeth, Research Associate, and Prof Samuyakanti Khatua, Associate Professor, from the NanoPlasmonics Research Lab, Department of Chemistry, IITGN. Additionally, the team collaborated with Prof Nimai Misra, Associate Professor, Institute of Chemical Technology - Indian Oil Odisha Campus (ICT-IOT) Bhubaneshwar, and his research group. Towards the end of my PhD I started looking into the effect of the anion exchange ionomer on the activity of electrocatalysts and I was surpised to find out how little we know about the effect of this vital component of electrochemical devices. Therefore, I decided to summarize the most recent advances, design considerations based on the reaction of interest and remaining challenges, in a review, that was recently published in the Advance Materials Hall of Fame. Light-induced strategies are crucial for deciding the physical and chemical properties of organometal halide perovskite materials and their photovoltaic devices. In our just-accepted work in Optical Materials, we fabricated triple-cation hybrid #perovskite films and studied their light-induced behavior. Further, TRPL and #ultrafast transient absorption spectroscopy (TAS) measurements have been performed to study the charge carrier generation and the decay dynamics effects of light illumination on hybrid perovskite films. TRPL results show that the average lifetime of charge carriers has increased from 3 ns to 19 ns upon continuous light illumination conditions. The recombination time of the charge carriers has also tuned from 226 ps to 66ps. This study may have a breakthrough towards the light-induced micro-strain regulation and modulation of their charge carrier dynamics for future #photovoltaics.
