📍#SeafarersAroundTheWorld 📍 ✅ I was scrolling the daily maritime/LNG news 💻 and I stumbled across the below photo which hit deeply 🌪. ✅ You think it is sarcastic photo but actually it is a fact picture 🎯. ✅ I have been working, and most of the seafarers, with incompetent and even competent but arrogant and bully senior officers/engineers that transform your contract onboard to a nightmare 🔥. ✅ Not only the seafarer sometimes lives his hard time onboard away 🌎 from his family, and this kind of people add the water to the boiled oil for no reason 🚨. ✅ Yes, I call them #Clowns exactly as the below picture is showing and they don’t even deserve ❌ to sail onboard ships. ✅ One of the reasons to become a #Captain was to avoid these red noses 🔴 and transform the atmosphere onboard my ship to the opposite ⭐. ✅ It is overwhelming when a seafarer comes to you and says “Captain please stay more onboard, we are very happy sailing with you” 🙏 ✅ Have you ever sailed with these #Clowns ❓❓ 📷: Danica #shipping #shippingindustry #Seafarers #MLC #Harrasment #Wellbeing 

Today on another edition of our routine spaces discussions we had the Sailors Lounge a segment where seafarers have the opportunity to bring up topics from any aspect of the maritime industry for discussion. Some of the topics discussed tonight are: ° The long stay at sea for seafarers where companies refuse/delay sending a reliever. ° The need for proper regulation of the influx of people joining the seafaring profession as it makes way for incompetent and half-baked seafarers. The scarcity of the seaman's discharge booklet.

First time feeling really disappointing, even as the vessel came to the Indian port. AMNS HAZIRA terminal not allowing shore leave to Seafarers. Strange thing is that crew can sign-in/sign off, services, superintendent, class can come onboard but even Indian seafarers can't go ashore. What type of rules these terminal is following? Shore leave is Basic right of Seafarers but nothing is happening. Few crew onboard from last 6 months not foot a step ashore and people talking about the mental well-being of seafarers. Today is the International Maritime Organization's Day of the Seafarer. Celebrated annually on 25 June, Day of the Seafarer recognises the contribution seafarers make to international seaborne trade, the world economy, and our day-to-day lives. This year, we asked AMSA staff to show their appreciation for the work of seafarers and how their safety at sea is in the interest of all of us. Scott Cundy, who works in our Seafarer Certification team, started out crewing tall ships in Europe, and tourism and dive vessels in Israel and Seychelles. He has crossed the Atlantic 30 times and the Pacific 4 times — albeit under sail at an average speed of 5 knots. Scott says, "Seafarer safety is important, considering marine safety has more inherent elements of high risk than most professions.” "My best safety tip is to invest the time and effort in developing and maintaining a simple and effective safety management system (SMS). A good SMS will be simple to understand and easily implemented. I always ask myself: Does the SMS say what we do? And are we doing what the SMS tells us to do?" Twenty-three ships enrolled in Amver over the past week. You will likely never see these names again, but the ship names represent hope. Hope for those in distress at sea. It doesn't matter if it is another seafarer, alone and scared in a liferaft, or a yachtsman desperate after losing their boat, or a migrant risking life and limb to get to a better life. Day of the Seafarer 🚢 The Day of the Seafarer has been celebrated annually on June 25 since 2010. This year, the theme of the day is to make the maritime sector a safer place to work. Decent work is one of TT-Line's six key goals for sustainable development. For TT-Line, economic growth and sustainability go hand in hand. For economic growth to have a positive impact, it must be accompanied by decent work, which includes full productivity and a safe and inclusive working environment. Safety on board is an important issue for us. After all, a safe working environment is not only important for our crew on board, but also means a safe ferry for our passengers. As a minimum standard, all safety measures must meet the requirements of international, regional and national safety regulations for seagoing vessels. The basis for this is the SOLAS Convention (Safety of Life at Sea) of the International Maritime Organization IMO. #SafetyTipsAtSea #dayoftheseafarer #ttline
