As a proud partner in the BOOST (Better Oyster Outplacing & Seeding Techniques) research project we recently installed over 3,500 ReefBoosters from our multicat Falcon in the port of Rotterdam. These pyramid-shaped tiles, designed and developed by Dutch start-up BlueLinked, are tiny artificial structures designed with the aim of restoring the nearly extinct population of flat oysters in the Dutch North Sea. ⚓ Successful installation of ReefBoosters in the port of Rotterdam completed! BOOST literally boosts our confidence in taking significant steps towards creating new oyster reefs in the North Sea. Encouraging news that supports active-nature-restoration research and projects.  ⚓ The installation is another important step to move the ReefBooster method into the next phase of development and deployment. Together with our collaborative partner Boskalis and their Falcon research vessel, about 3500 of ReefBoosters were successfully installed in the Rotterdam Harbor.  And as a bonus, the EU Active Nature Restoration law got recently adopted  (https://lnkd.in/eA7bW68N). Meaning that our steps towards active nature restoration become more important – and easier to expand. 🌍   Curious about this pilot in Rotterdam? Take a look at our project page: https://lnkd.in/e8bMq2yy     ***     Project BOOST is being carried out in cooperation with Boskalis, De Rijke Noordzee, Advanced Tower Systems, Wageningen University & Research and Lobster Robotics. With a special thanks to Port of Rotterdam and Gemeente Alphen aan den Rijn for providing the test location and financial support. This project receives financial support from the Top Sector Agri & Food. Within the Top Sector, business, knowledge institutions and the government are working together on innovations for safe and healthy food for 9 billion people in a sustainable world. #BOOSTProject #OysterRestoration #PilotProject #NorthSeaRestoration #ReefBooster #oceanrewilding

Proud that Boskalis contributes to a healthier marine environment just as with the artificail reefs in the Nieuwe Waterweg near Rotterdam, Trinidad & Tobago, Kenya, Monaco and Panama! Keep up the good work! 💪
