Yesterday, our CTO Dr. William Streilein spoke on a panel at Booz Allen’s “DX24: The Defense Experience” in Washington, DC, alongside USC Lt. Gen. (ret) Lewis A. Craparotta, former Commanding General, USMC Training and Education Command, Air Force Lt. Gen. Adrian L. Spain, Air Force Deputy Chief of Staff for Operations, and moderator, Graham Evans, Booz Allen SVP. The panel dove into a discussion on data, data access, and data structure necessary for military operations to fully exploit the benefits of AI and data analytics, and the difficulties of building data-driven systems at the edge. Dr. Streilein also discussed experimentation and the need to accept and mitigate risk, presenting the #GIDE experiments and #OpenDAGIR as examples of how the CDAO is enabling the speed of adoption of emerging technology in the Department of Defense.
