The food & beverage manufacturing industry is placing a greater focus on water and #wastewater management, aiming to mitigate risks associated with #waterscarcity and #waterquality. In the wake of population increases, evolving consumer preferences (i.e., plant-based foods), and a heightened focus on #corporatesustainability (i.e., #brandmanagement), opportunities for #watersolutions providers are set to grow in parallel. Bluefield has forecasted that the food and beverage sector will invest US$112 billion in #watermanagement through the end of the decade—particularly in China, the U.S., and India. This sector's projected annual growth of 4% is influenced by economic and regulatory factors—especially in developed regions, where rising wastewater treatment costs (i.e., utility surcharges) underpin moves to on-site treatment and reuse.
