Despite funding ending in 2017, the CASI Project's legacy lives and the CASI platform and tutorial continue to promote #sustainability in a self-sustainable manner. Read final report at 👉 https://lnkd.in/d8YJBMnS While the original goal was to train around one hundred stakeholders, the #CASITutorial on #Sustainable #Innovation #Assessment and #Management: Widening Horizons on #ClimateAction, #Environment, #ResourceEfficiency and #RawMaterials has now reached 5️⃣0️⃣0️⃣➕ participants in 7️⃣0️⃣➕ countries!👏👏 Similarly, since the end of the project, #CASIPEDIA - a unique bank of sustainable innovation practices - has gathered over a hundred new cases, thus reaching 6️⃣0️⃣0️⃣➕initiatives. Coordinated by the Applied Research and Communications Fund #ARCFund in #Bulgaria and supported by 19 partners and 16 country correspondents across the European Union, the #CASIproject stands as a testament to the lasting impact of European Commission funding (#FP7). Implemented from June 2023 to May 2025, this initiative sets a pathway toward inclusive and sustainable growth, aligning with the goals of the Paris Agreement🌍🌱🌎

Last week, Roger Espejo, project manager of the FLORA project participated to the Sustainable Blue Economy Partnership workshops in Brussels, discussing "Innovative governance for the blue economy" and "Ocean observation in the blue economy". In the context of fine-tuning the strategic research and innovation agenda of the partnership, these workshops helped identify scientific and technological gaps as well as governance bottlenecks, and then suggest strategic impact pathway roadmaps and policy-making recommendations. The EU Innovation Fund is one of the world's largest funding programmes for innovative decarbonisation technologies, funded through revenues from the EU Emission Trading System. Earlier this month, the Commission announced the results of the third EU Innovation Fund call for large-scale projects: ✅ 41 projects were selected for grants. ✅ €3.6 billion will be awarded. The Innovation Fund demonstrates the EU's pivotal role in funding cutting-edge technologies that will speed up the transition to a net-zero economy, in Europe and elsewhere. It bolsters the competitiveness of European companies in the global contest of leading the fourth industrial revolution, according to our Senior Advisor Marc Vanheukelen. As Leaders it's easy to get lost in the "busy"ness of it all and so conscious effort is needed to ensure we do at least a monthly session where we can communicate, update, align, plan, connect, and improve together.
