360 Integrated Marketing & Comms Leader Developing & Elevating Beauty & Wellness Brands | Brand & Content Strategist | Co-Founder @ The Beauty Brief

I work with indie beauty and wellness founders in the early stages of their brand journey. Sometimes we are starting with nothing. Sometimes they’ve been around for a minute. Either way, the biggest challenge is always determining how to stand out and captivate an audience when there are SO many other brands already out there for consumers to choose from. Brands don’t get to simply exist. They have to mean something to their customers — and that doesn’t even have to be resonating in an overly deep way. It could just be that the results are fabulous, for example. I’ve seen young founders THRIVE with very limited resources for simply establishing trust by talking about their products, showing the outcome, and being likeable (and consistent). Eva Yean and Melissa R. Hibbért provide fantastic insight on all of this in the NPR Marketplace feature linked below. Love this quote by Melissa: “Trust also depends on having the right messenger. Instead of relying on celebrity influencers who have paid thousands of dollars for plastic surgery, consumers want more authenticity. The jig is up, the veil has been pulled back and brands know it now — they cannot keep moving in that direction.” The biggest essentials moving forward: ✅ Authenticity ✅ Product Efficacy ✅ Likeability ✅ Connection ✅ Compelling Branding & Messaging ✅ Consistency ✅ Community (and truly understanding them) What are some of your favorite new brands that are doing a good job of standing out in a busy space? 🩷✨🩷 I’m Bethany. Excited to share my recent interview on NPR Marketplace's "What does it take for a cosmetics brand to make it these days?" where I discussed strategies for beauty newcomers and legacy brands to thrive. I look forward to continuing these conversations in 2024 and beyond. https://lnkd.in/eM9r8bAF Speaking of 2024, it's time to reconnect. Here's a quick retrospective of the first quarter of the year: Guiding Beauty and Wellness Brands to Success: At Lovelife Beauty, I partnered with diverse founders and investors to create, build, and scale their dream brands. Building brand equity within the industry is incredibly rewarding. Shaping Beauty Business in Higher Education: Finished my time in Academia. Was part of the committee shaping the beauty curriculum at FIDM during their transition to ASU to ensure future beauty leaders are equipped with relevant education to navigate the ever-evolving and dynamic industry. Teaching future beauty leaders on branding last year was a rewarding way for me to pay it forward and I am glad I took the time to do so. Sharing Global Industry Insights: My NPR Marketplace interview exemplifies my commitment to sharing knowledge and inspiring global beauty and wellness entrepreneurs beyond my clientele and mentees. I'm energized to contribute to building a more inclusive and vibrant beauty industry. Looking forward to more exciting collaborations with incredible partners. #beautyindustry #entrepreneurlife #lovelifebeauty #NPRMmarketplace #brandbuilding #collaboration #growth #diversityandinclusion #inspiration
