I just learned that today is National Single Parent Day - a day dedicated to recognizing the extraordinary efforts of single parents everywhere. I can quite literally think of no more demanding, relentless, all-encompassing experience than single parenting. While this period is a joyous time for many, we’re conscious that for the millions around the world who are victims of modern slavery, this is not the case. Christmas can be a lonely time for survivors of modern slavery. Just a £5 donation could help pay for them to travel to a therapy session or support group so they are not alone. We have been working to prevent these abuses for many years now, but their complex nature means that there is still plenty of work to be done. HERA's mission is to empower women survivors to achieve a life like you and I. We do this by: ■ 1-2-1 mentoring. ■ Business & entrepreneurship training. ■ Capacity building & equipping women with skills.
