As #MemorialDay approaches, we pause to honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving in the United States Armed Forces. Their courage and bravery have safeguarded the freedoms we cherish today. May is also recognized as #MilitaryAppreciationMonth, a time to express gratitude to all current and former members of the military, as well as for the contributions and support of their spouses and families. The Saxon Shore (Latin: litus Saxonicum) was a military command of the Late Roman Empire, consisting of a series of fortifications on both sides of the Channel. It was established in the late 3rd century and was led by the “Count of the Saxon Shore”. In the late 4th century, his functions were limited to Britain, while the fortifications in Gaul were established as separate commands. Several well-preserved Saxon Shore forts survive in east and south-east England. https://lnkd.in/gKqhP5KG
