Officially 2 years with Twitch💜🎉
Over the past 2 years, my role has changed 4 times, survived 3 rounds of layoffs, got divorced, and moved out to start a new life. It's definitely been a roller coaster ride for sure, but I learned so much, worked hard for what I truly want, and could not be more proud of myself!🫶🏻
Some of my greatest learnings:
Having an opinion or your own vision is important. It doesn't necessarily have to be something that everyone would agree with or mind-blowing super smart ideas that impress the upper management. You do not need to be loud to be heard. When your team/your manager actively seeks ideas and opinions, it is the time to speak up to make an impact.
If you do a lot of work but don’t talk about it or document it, no one will notice your accomplishments, or appreciate your hard work. Don't expect anyone to notice your work. Everyone’s busy with their own thing and doesn't pay that much attention to other people’s work but their own. It is important to be detailed on the accomplishment, tell them what you did, how you did it, what was the deliverable, and how it contributed to the success of the team/company. It builds a lot of self-esteem and also builds a lot of trust with your colleagues and your managers and trust is really important for teamwork.
I truly appreciate all the experiences and learnings in the past two years and looking forward to the exciting third year!😎
