What does being a leader look like? What does being a role model look like? Am I allowed to 'disappear' online now & again? So many questions... After a three-week family vacation this summer ☀ followed by several intense weeks here in Germany, I've been reflecting on why I've been so inactive online for the past two months... and while I feel like I missed (read: delayed) the opportunity to post about numerous fantastic work trips, events, etc., the truth is, I just wanted a break and chose to be fully present in my 'real life'. I'll catch up on Axa milestones in weeks to come - I mean, what are #throwbackthursdays for if not this? - because we've had a number of big leaps forward and I'll also share some fun and compelling photos from recent Axa events, some lecturing at universities and maybe even a shot or two from around Köln. You have to organise a corporate volunteering activity for +50 people? OK. But how? 🙄 Because if you've ever tried, you know it can be overwhelming and time-consuming to: - Find the appropriate associations within your group's timing, tasks and aligned values. - Put in place an efficient recruitment process. - Coordinate properly the activity on the d-day. Taking away all the fun, impact and purpose of such activities! 🗣 So first, clearly define your objectives and the sectors you want to be involved in and contact ASBLs you've already worked with, and the ones they can recommend. It's easier for associations to welcome small groups (6 people), so you'll have to find multiple activities. 📚 Reach out to your IT and communication departments to understand if they have a platform or an automated system and time to help you spread the word and recruit. 💡 Go to the associations to check the locations, clearly define the activity, and who will be present from the associations to welcome the group and onboard them on the activity. And brief your coworkers! 🍕 And don't put the burden of catering on the association's shoulders ;-) Prepare pique-nique baskets for your teams!
