In case you wanted even more proof that satellite constellations are the future of the internet, Amazon, already the dominant figure in cloud computing, is investing $120 million into its new satellite factory for the discreet Kuiper Project. Based near the Kennedy Space Center, with launch partner and fellow Bezos-founded company BLUE ORIGIN across the street, Kuiper satellites fresh off the production floor will have a short journey to their seats on the New Glenn rocket. Space synergy!

There are more satellites orbiting our planet than ever, each sending and receiving massive amounts of data that can help us understand our world as we never have before. But how can federal agencies harness this supernova of connectivity to unlock the most value from space? Our new report with FedScoop explores how the Azure Space partner ecosystem and hybrid space platforms like Azure Orbital Ground Station, Azure Orbital Cloud Access, and Microsoft Planetary Computer are helping agencies securely access, manage, and extract deeper insights from space data in real-time. I highly encourage you to read the report and learn how the convergence of seamless satellite and 5G connectivity, cloud computing, and earth observation data is transforming government missions from ground to orbit! https://lnkd.in/ghfBTAPT #AzureSpace #AzureOrbital #MicrosoftPlanetaryComputer #5G #FutureOfCloud

An updated HPE's Spaceborne Computer-2 heads to ISS with highest storage yet. After having established off-the-shelf IT gear can function in space for more than a year (Spacebourne Computer-1), and that IT in space can effectively communicate with earth-boud cloud infrastructure (Spacebourne Computer-2), this enhancement will prove that IT in space can function autonomously with AI workloads, that will provide value to astronauts during their mission Exciting times!

Podcast link: https://lnkd.in/e4CSmYHE Just over 652 miles (1,050 kilometers) above Earth’s surface, RIVADA is building a resilient outernet – a point-to-point low-latency orbital network comprised of approximately 600 satellites. Join Episode 4 of the special AWS in Orbit podcasts produced at the 39th Space Symposium to discover how RIVADA powered by AWS overcomes geographical boundaries and increases connectivity on Earth to enable new applications, uses, and industries. Find out how RIVADA eliminates the need for ground relay stations to provide extremely low latency, fast communications network. Join host @Maria Varmazis and special guests @Declan Garney and @Salem El Nimri to find out how RIVADA uses AWS to help manage space data traffic and power digital twin simulation for real-time emulation of the entire RIVADA constellation (not just one satellite). You can also check out the video here: https://lnkd.in/e6RWhbVD AWS in Orbit is produced by AWS Aerospace & Satellite and N2K | T-Minus. COOL 😎 😎 😎 - LAYING THE GROUNDWORK FOR ORBITAL DATA CENTERS #SpiderOak utilized Amazon Web Devices #aws #Snowcone to complete a demonstration of its OrbitSecure technology. AWS is an edge computing device that was provided by #AxiomSpace onboard the International Space Station #ISS So why is this cool? 😎😎😎😎😎 Spider Oak was able to successfully demonstrate sending and receiving secure ops traffic between ground and Low-Earth Orbit (LEO). “The future of space is undeniably software-defined,” said John Moberly, SpiderOak’s senior vice president for Space. “Our successful demonstration shows that it’s not just possible, but effective and secure, to run containerized workloads in modern orchestrated environments with secure data channels from orbit to ground and vice versa.” Read more in the article below 👇 #datacentre #spaceiscool #spaceexploration #boldlygo #spaceformore

Apart from Technology, I've been tracking Civil Aviation and Space developments since my university days. So it was an absolute pleasure to speak with Mr. Clint Crosier, a veteran who served 33 years in the U.S. Air Force and U.S. Space Force. Clint, who is now director, aerospace and satellite at Amazon Web Services said the anticipated surge in satellite deployment leads to three core space data problems - volume of data, bandwidth and latency. Cloud and cloud-based solutions can solve all three space data problems. Besides, the confluence of space and cloud "can unlock extraordinary innovation." In this EXCLUSIVE video interview with ISMG, Crosier discussed: ✔ The challenges of #datamanagement in #space communication; ✔ Use of cloud and edge computing for space data processing; ✔ The role of #AI and #machinelearning learning in spacecraft autonomy.
