Interesting numbers here. That amount of content is mind-blowing! Thanks for sharing, SDVI Corporation!
The numbers are in, and this has been quite a year for media organizations! In 2023, organizations were forced to find new ways to overcome challenges and adapt to change. In the face of a challenging year, media organizations got creative! They found ways of doing more with less, such as using their media supply chains to bring content already in their catalogs out to their audiences and launching new FAST channels to make existing content available on subscription-based services. Despite total jobs increasing to over 459 million and organizations processing 38.6 million hours of content, the carbon footprint of Rally supply chains has plummeted as cloud providers utilize carbon-neutral energy sources, and optimized workloads help to decrease resource consumption. Read on to see what the numbers tell us about the current state of media operations, and visit Booth W2312 at #NABShow to learn how Rally can help your organization boost its efficiency and agility. https://lnkd.in/gYsKDq3w #mediasupplychain #cloud #broadcast #broadcasting #PaaS Codemill Accurate.Video

Are you "streaming from the cloud" or old-school on-prem HW? Next month, I will participate in an exciting panel at the Dataxis event in London. Over the last few years, there has been ongoing discussion about whether telcos / large-scale broadcasters should keep streaming from their data centers or “move to the cloud.” #Akamai #Google #AWS were always there, and #fastly and #cdn77 are also joined, but different customers have different needs. Telco’s, in particular, face unique challenges. Their focus on linear content results in a significant monthly throughput, and their CDN usage is substantial. This high demand for data usage presents a compelling argument for streaming from their own data centers. Broadcaster – as long as the scale is reasonable, it might fly for them, but it doesn’t make sense for the big players. Large broadcasters, such as #NFX and #Disney, have taken a different approach. They have either established their own CDNs worldwide or are in the process of doing so. This individualized solution reflects the unique needs and capabilities of these industry giants. Some people previously said we are all going to the cloud but waiting for the prices to go down. Prices went down, but the CDN providers are currently fighting with costs, and we may be at the bottom. So, WDYT, will the public CDNs take over? Are you familiar with large-scale TV providers that use them as their main CDN providers? Or will the "big ones" stay with their own HW on-prem?

📣 In case you missed the news at #NABShow, A+E Networks EMEA has deployed the Rally platform to modernize its #mediasupplychain. Jan-Hendrik Hein, Vice President of Media Operations at A+E Networks EMEA, highlights some key achievements: “Rally is enabling us to shift from siloed operations to an integrated cloud-based supply chain with which we’re realizing the increased flexibility, speed, and control we need to support our EMEA operations. Data-driven automated workflows have already allowed us to reduce repetitive manual tasks significantly and free up skilled operators to focus on where they can add even greater value. As content comes in from suppliers, for example, we’ve reduced the manual touches across the workflow from 16 to just four.” 🔗 Learn more about the deployment of Rally for A+E Networks EMEA by reading the full release: https://lnkd.in/gHsMF4wZ #mediasupplychain #cloud #broadcast #broadcasting #PaaS
