Amazing that the Battery Pass project made it to #IAAMobility2023. A keynote was given by Tilmann Vahle (Director Sustainable Mobility & Batteries, Systemiq Ltd.) on Battery Pass and #Batterypassports. He took the opportunity to present Battery Pass at the VDE & Bundesverband Materialwirtschaft, Einkauf und Logistik e.V. (BME) IAA Mobility Procurement Days. In a specialist setting of some dozens procurement professionals from the automotive industry, he shared an overview of sustainability in the automotive and batteries sectors, the newly enforced EU Battery Regulation, and battery passports. The session showed: there is lots of interest, but so far little awareness among these functions in the industry of the requirements that are going to face them very soon. Since these demands will be comprehensive – ranging from performance and business requirements to sustainability metrics such as CO2 and circularity – more needs to be done to enable Procurement department professionals in the automotive industry to respond appropriately. 🎯 The Battery Pass Content Guidance is a great place to start. This time, almost 750 exhibitors from 38 countries presented performance strengths and innovations in Munich city center - #batterypass left its mark as well!

Our company has secured new contracts with Nobina, the leading public transport operator in Sweden. It is yet another order for Solaris electric buses from an operator within a short period, reinforcing our position as a key player in providing environmentally friendly solutions for urban transport. This time Nobina has ordered a total of 88 electric buses. This includes 55 units of the Urbino 15 LE electric as reinvestment for Skåne region 15 units for Värmland, and 18 units of the Urbino 18 electric operating in the city of Malmö. “These new orders mark another significant step towards greener public transport solutions in Sweden. We are thrilled to continue our collaboration with Nobina and be a part of the implementation of zero-emission solutions also in suburban transportation. We believe it is crucial for the global transformation of mobility” – said Olivier Michard, Member of the Management Board for Sales and Marketing in Solaris Bus & Coach. The electrification of transportation in Europe is making significant progress. This trend can also be seen in Sweden. 📌 First Mireo Plus B Hybrid Trains Roll Out in Germany 🌿 The first #Mireo Plus B battery-hybrid trains entered operation in Germany. This marks a significant milestone for sustainable transport in the region. 🔍 Key Points - Inaugural journey took place on April 8, 2024, from #Offenburg to #Oberkirch. - Initially serving routes from Offenburg to Bad Griesbach and Hornberg, replacing #diesel trains. - This project involves the collaboration of #Siemens Mobility and SWEG Südwestdeutsche Landesverkehrs-GmbH under the state’s direction. - Each train offers 120 seats, equipped with modern comforts including air conditioning and toilets. 📱 Technological Insights - These trains will decrease annual diesel consumption by approximately 1.8 million liters. - Battery performance: Can travel up to 120 kilometers on #battery power, rechargeable via overhead lines or through braking energy. - Future Expansion: Plans for gradual expansion to cover additional routes within the region.
