🛬 Last week I returned from The SmarterE in Munich, where I have seen quite a few things in the energy innovation space, which I would like to share. First of all, out of my two experiences at the SmarterE (more familiar as InterSolar Europe until recently), this one was truly outstanding - the largest exhibition I've ever been to and the one which also coincided with the 2024 Euro Cup games in Germany (including one game in Munich during the conference hours). In addition, this time I wore an exhibitor hat - presenting Soltell Systems at the EMPower @SmarterE pavillion C5.650F. 🌞Now let me share an interesting development from GCL Technology Holdings Limited: GCL presented their latest perovskite solar module technology at the Intersolar Europe Exhibition @SmarterE in Munich. They showcased two modules: a pure perovskite module with over 19% efficiency and a perovskite-silicon tandem module exceeding 26% efficiency. These modules have passed IEC certification, suggesting promising durability. With plans for mass production by late 2025 and potential cost savings of up to 50% per watt and reaching an energy threshold of 30% conversion efficiency, GCL is set to bring significant advancements to solar generation technology. 🌞💡As someone who began his energytech career in PV device engineering, I find this to be a truly remarkable milestone! 🌟 We are approaching the notorious Shockley–Queisser limit in solar energy conversion, and the solar industry is on the verge of surpassing it! Probably my last post of 2023 explains our innovations in 2023 which were presented at #solarsolutions expo in Düsseldorf. In this video, I walk you through our innovative modules and explain you the unique points of each module. Shade-resistant modules are the signature of AESOLAR. The second generation of the module is on the way. This is a solution to the partial shading challenge which is answerer by us. The second generation will be launched in the framework of our collaboration with Fraunhofer institute to ensure the reliability and performance of our module. Terra, is our allrounder module with a superb resistance against wind and snow which makes the module an interesting product for windy and snowy places. With only a clever design and without changing the module materials, we reduce the cell breakage probability under mechanical loada up to 75%! Furthermore, the module has no self-shading which makes it an interesting module for vertical installations. The module can be used in powerplants, rooftops, AgriPV and etc. Sometimes you buy a module sometimes you buy a product with a lpt of know-how behind it. This is where we make the difference.
