A new Wi-Fi vulnerability affecting all supported versions of the Windows operating system has been identified, and users are urgently advised to update their systems. The vulnerability, designated as CVE-2024-30078, has received a severity rating of 8.8 out of 10. This high-risk flaw allows attackers to execute arbitrary code remotely on affected devices without requiring physical access, although they do need to be within the range of the Wi-Fi network. The exploit does not necessitate any user interaction, making it particularly dangerous as it can be executed without the target user's awareness. Microsoft has already released a critical security patch to address this issue, and users are strongly encouraged to apply it immediately. Security experts warn that environments with high device density, such as hotels and trade shows, are especially vulnerable. In such scenarios, attackers can easily exploit the flaw to gain control over multiple devices simultaneously.

🚨 Vulnerability Bulletin: CVE-2024-2370 A critical security flaw, identified as CVE-2024-2370, has been discovered in ManageEngine Desktop Central version 9, build 90055. This vulnerability allows for unrestricted file uploads, impacting endpoint management and security solutions used for centralized control of desktops, laptops, servers, mobile devices, and tablets. The flaw stems from inadequate validation of file uploads in ManageEngine Desktop Central, enabling attackers to exploit it, potentially resulting in unauthorized access, data breaches, or complete system compromise. Given Peach Sandstorm's (also known as Holmium, APT33, Elfin, and Magic Hound) history of targeting Zoho ManageEngine product vulnerabilities, there is potential for the group to target CVE-2024-2370 in future operations. Their focus on sectors such as satellite, defense, and pharmaceuticals underscores the need for heightened vigilance in these areas. Organizations within these sectors, utilizing ManageEngine products, should proactively evaluate their security measures, anticipating potential activity by Peach Sandstorm or other threat actors targeting CVE-2024-2370. We are 12 days into October (Cybersecurity Awareness Month) and have already amassed:  -       A major Linux “Looney Tunable” bug (CVE-2023-4911 CVSS 7.8).  -       Patch Tuesday, Microsoft released 2 zero-day vulnerabilities, along with 103 other CVEs… 13 being critical.  -       Apple is relatively quiet with 1 -  7.8 rated vul. Coming off their highest month of the year (Sept) with 111 vul’s.  -       I haven’t even mentioned third party patching.
