Can we talk about the experiences of black people? Yes, of course. But this doesn't sound very inclusive. What about other ethnicities? We must not come across as favouring one ethnicity over the other. Let's cover the experiences of all ethnic minorities. —————————————————————— A focused discussion on one ethnicity without bringing in other ethnicities is OK. It is essential to acknowledge and honour the unique experiences, challenges, and contributions of that particular group. By centring the conversation on one ethnicity, we can delve deeper into understanding their culture, history, and perspectives without diluting the discussion with unrelated topics. And provides a platform for members of that ethnicity to share their stories, amplify their voices, and advocate for their needs and rights. Looking forward to speaking at the Black Inclusion Week. #race #equality #dei

Black British Queer Sisters I appreciate the fact that I have been honoured this #BlackHistoryMonth. A month that has otherwise felt extremely quite when it comes to the subject of Black Britain and history. Even more so as many forgot that we are speaking of British Black History Month – America celebrates Black History in February. I point this out because of the number of times that people continue to quote Martin Luther King and Maya Angelou whenever they quote black people. More pertinent are the number of adverts, programmes and displays I’ve seen in relation to Black History Month that have featured Americans. One that specific stands out in my mind was a display of Black Queer people. As I explained to the owners of the display, it’s important because we are otherwise erasing a segment of society that needs to be recognised alongside everyone else in society. A quick Google search will present quite a number of Black British people who are clear, inclusive of women. My search also presented me with a story by Vanessa-Ama Osei which explains the erasure of Black British Queer Women much better than I can. Ref: https://lnkd.in/edpFqaV6 I hope we learn from this for Black History Months in years to come. #Selah Susan Popoola MA CIPD FRSA Human Value Optimisation Maximising Productivity | Leveraging The Value of People Mobile: +44 (0) 7957 743022 Email: Susan@MosaicWorld.live www.MosaicWorld.live #BlackBritishMonth #SalutingOurSisters #Queer #LGBTQI #Inclusion
