Samuel Merritt University offers a Doctor of Nursing practice fellowship through a partnership with Sutter Health aimed at developing future health equity nursing leaders. Irene A. was the first recipient of this fellowship. Her health equity project investigated medication adherence among Latinx patients. Irene said her goal was to shed some light on providing care that's culturally competent and attuned to the Latinx community, and then also provide the resources to the Latinx community to be able to better care for their own health.
