SAP TIPS FRIDAY - An easy way to save yourself from the jaws of a SAP disaster. We’ve all been there if we’ve worked in SAP for some time - a transport has gone into live and wreaked havoc. One free and easy way to cut the risk of this type of SAP apocalypse is by activating TMS QA Approval (transaction STMS_QA). This allows you to add an approval step to transports before they hit production; generally a sanity check by someone nominated to sign-off changes to live. “You’re gonna need a bigger boat” Chief Brody. Place workloads on suitably sized servers to right-size SAP. Make it a quarterly iterative process to keep on top of it. Your FinOps and GreenOps people will love you for doing so. You DO have FinOps and GreenOps people, constantly removing cost and carbon from your SAP estate, right? No? Does anyone know whether SAP still offers RISE for ECC? I know it did last year when Google and AMD announced AMD EPYC-based VMs for SAP Business Suite ‘on RISE’, yet SAP has been tight-lipped on the subject since. #risewithsap #sapecc #s4hana
