This month our colleagues Pablo Ruz and Javier Torrego took part in an international course on visualisation with artificial intelligence, using one of the most popular artificial intelligence systems available for creating images from text: Midjourney. The training, organised by the company Nordify UG (haftungsbeschränkt), has counted with the collaboration of the architect Cosimo Scotucci from the international architecture studio MVRDV. During the training sessions, there was also a team competition organised by Competitions.archi; the aim was to use artificial intelligence to design a pavilion for a supposed universal exhibition that would follow innovative and sustainable construction criteria. The winning project was by the team with Pablo Ruz Sampalo, while the team with Javier Torrego Pérez was runner-up. NEW PROJECT | SINGLE-FAMILY HOUSING GC7 GC7 is a single-family housing project located in the northeast area of Madrid. To address the relationship between the public and private realms, the project consists of four main volumes: one facing the street to act as a filter, and three more open volumes oriented towards the rear garden. The filtering facade works in tandem with the vegetation of the courtyards and terraces to create a calm atmosphere indoors. Similarly, the ceramic material serves as protection against sunlight. The lattice frame, as well as its thickness and construction system, were key in determining the level of privacy and use of each space. Therefore, GC7’s façade represents a gradation of filters that ensures the utmost comfort for its users.
