It's Factory Friday! Thank you to Armen Ekmekji and the Otto Fuchs Weber Metals team for hosting Patriot Industrial Partners for a project workshop at their Paramount, CA facility. I have been to many manufacturing facilities around the world, but few are like this one. The size, complexity and skill needed to complete large forgings is really amazing. Most interesting was seeing the 60,000 ton press that was commissioned in 2018 and is the newest heavy press in the world. It is also the largest forging press in the U.S. with a tooling bed of 10 x 20 feet that makes the largest monolithic aircraft structures.
