In many countries, LGBTQ+ people face stigma and discrimination, which creates barriers to fully exercise their fundamental rights, including accessing life-saving healthcare services. We need to treat all people as we would like to be treated - with respect and dignity! You’re probably used to hearing about LGBTQ+ health during #PrideMonth each June, but LGBTQ+ #patients face disparities year-round. One area that’s often overlooked: Preventive #health. In fact, 2022 research by Phreesia and Klick Health found that nearly 1 in 4 #LGBTQ+ patients felt “not at all confident” that they knew what preventive screenings to schedule. It’s important to meet LGBTQ+ patients where they are and ensure they receive life-saving preventive care. June is PRIDE month, and protecting LGBTQ+ youth from the risks involved with substance-use disorder (SUD) and addiction is paramount. According to SAHMSA, about one third of bisexual males, bisexual females, and gay males had an SUD in the past year. About one fourth of lesbian females had an SUD in the past year. These are just a few proven steps you can take to help prevent substance-use disorder in LGBTQ+ youth, whether you are an educator, service-provider, or just a friend. These insights underscore the significant role brands play in advocating for and supporting the LGBTQ+ community. May 17 is the International Day Against LGBTQIA+ Discrimination. It's a time to be a visible ally and promote LGBTQIA+ inclusion in your community. Here are 6 ways you can be a better LGBTQIA+ ally: 🌈 1. Learn and Listen! Listen to the experiences of LGBTQIA+ people. Check out content creators, listen to podcasts and attending inclusion training. 🌈 2. Inclusive Language! Use terminology that includes LGBTQIA+ people. For example, use the word “partner” to avoid assuming someone’s gender. 🌈 3. Be Visible! Signal to others that you’re someone who’ll support them. You could wear rainbow, share social media content and get involved with queer events. 🌈 4. Show Your Pronouns! Showing your pronouns shows others you’ll respect theirs too! Wear a pin, or add yours to your email signature or social media profile. 🌈 5. Use Your Voice! Stand up for LGBTQIA+ people and speak up against discrimination, even if the person being talked about isn’t around. 🌈 6. Advocate For Inclusion! Build LGBTQIA+ inclusion in to your everyday life and advocate for others to do the same. You can learn more from organisations who do this work each day. You don't have to know everything about being an ally in order to start being one!

Key take-aways included: - Although progress has been made in some countries, we cannot be complacent; inequality and discrimination persists and more needs to be done to support those who are most marginalised - #Allyship is key to making progress, from those who are outside the LGBTQ+ community, as well as those within - There are actions we can all take in our everyday to support colleagues and others within the LGBTQ+ community; a simple action such as sharing pronouns in email signatures is a helpful start - Visible role models play a very important part in helping to establish an inclusive culture in the workplace. #IDAHOBIT2024 #inclusion

Estate planning is important for everyone, but it can be more difficult for those in the LGBTQ+ community. Even though marriage equality and other protections for this community have come a long way, it may still be more complicated for same-sex couples and others in non-traditional relationships to make sure their interests are protected. The reason estate planning is so vital is that it ensures that your wishes are honored and your loved ones’ well-being is considered through the protection and distribution of your assets after death. Let's erase the taboo and open up conversations about menstruation in the LGBTQ+ community! It affects us all, regardless of gender identity. Among many other issues faced by the lgbtq+ community members, getting periods every month also affects them in various ways. As some individuals face additional stigma and discrimination related to menstruation due to societal prejudices, breaking this stigma can be crucial for their overall well-being. With the help of this post we are here to spread awareness as discussing menstruation can lead to a more supportive environment within the LGBTQ+ community.
