Svolt Energy Technology Co., Ltd. Appears to be the latest Chinese-based #battery cell supplier for #bmw in Europe. The 7th largest #ev battery cell supplier in China will build a 20GWh factory presumably in Debrecen, Hungary, near BMW’s Neue Klasse assembly plant now under construction. SVOLT is slated to produce and pack short blade-type pouches in a cell-to-pack configuration. #autoforecastsolutions observes that at 20GWh, a new European plant will dwarf #svolt ‘s domestic Chinese production capability, which is dedicated to Great Wall Motors. Honda Shows CR-V Hydrogen Fuel Cell Module Honda this week provided a few more details about its next-generation fuel-cell module, at the 2023 European Hydrogen Week in Brussels. Co-developed with General Motors, the new module was first shown at the 2023 Tokyo auto show, and it has already been confirmed for use in North America. Honda has already confirmed a Europe-bound energy storage system that combines renewable energy with hydrogen. But this is the first time Honda has discussed other applications for Europe, including passenger cars, commercial vehicles, construction equipment, and stationary power generation. https://lnkd.in/dMF9dEaq #hydrogen #fuelcell

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗵𝘆𝗱𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗲𝗻 𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗸 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗹 𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁 - 𝘆𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗼𝗱𝗮𝘆. The "Clean Energy" project at BMW, which ran from 2003 to 2008, was a major milestone for Silver Atena and especially for Wendelin Reverey, who was involved as a systems engineer and deputy project manager. “The project, officially called "Clean Energy Control Unit", was part of the "Hydrogen 7" vehicle, which could run on both liquid hydrogen and regular petrol. As part of this project, Silver Atena developed and delivered the hydrogen tank control unit in series - a first for the company. This project involved full in-house development and delivery to the Dingolfing plant in accordance with all BMW standards. A total of 150 cars were produced. At that time, hydrogen in this application was stored in liquid form, whereas today it is stored in gaseous form at 350 or 700 bar pressure. Unfortunately, the technology did not catch on because the network of refuelling stations for liquid hydrogen was not nationwide and using hydrogen in a piston engine was not the most energy-efficient method. Today, fuel cells are used to generate electricity from hydrogen. The work on this clean energy project laid the foundation for many subsequent projects. Silver Atena is currently working on a major project, again involving a liquid hydrogen tank controller, but this time for aerospace. In aerospace, hydrogen is increasingly being used in fuel cells that generate electrical energy or can be burned directly in the turbine. Silver Atena's projects are constantly evolving, with a focus on optimised energy efficiency and the highest quality standards.
