Did anyone see your social posts last weekend.? Because if you had content going out over the weekend, the chances are it probably crashed. Good news... it's not you, it's them! Two MAJOR things happened last weekend that will have played a massive part. The aurora borealis (AKA northern lights) appeared almost everywhere in the northern hemisphere (not that I'd know since I slept through the whole bloody thing) and it was scorchio for the first time all year. This meant newsfeeds were filled with 3 things this past weekend... photos of the sun... photos of the aurora borealis... posts from people moaning that they missed it! (me) Throw into Scotland, an old firm match and lots of communions and no one was looking at your insta posts last weekend. It happens a lot. And if it happened to you, don't beat yourself up! When big events (weather or otherwise) are on the horizon, consider adjusting your posting strategy. These are times when your content might struggle to cut through the noise of trending topics. Next time there's a buzz about upcoming events or extraordinary weather, think about how you can use this to your advantage. Maybe pause your usual posts and engage with the current trends instead? Follow me for more tips- but not aurora alerts or photos!
