Day 1 at MWC & 4YFN 2024: Discovery What a wonderful first day at the event! 🎉 It felt like a grand reunion, catching up with old friends, familiar faces, and the venue itself. It's almost as if everything paused last year, and today, we hit the play button. The usual big names are right where we left them, including us as we repeated our location for our booths. But don't be fooled; it's not all the same. The air buzzes with the fresh energy of new exhibitors, and 4YFN has ambitiously expanded, claiming an extra floor—good news for the startup ecosystem. And then there's the talk of the town - Generative AI. For many, this "new" innovation, Generative AI, is a bold frontier. But for us at Napptilus Tech Labs/ StageInHome, it's a place called "home". We've been living and breathing Generative AI for over 4 years, crafting our expertise long before it became mainstream. Standing here, showcasing years of dedication, feels like a silent nod to our journey—we know this path well. As Day 2 looms on the horizon, I'm still piecing together the perfect word to capture it. NEW VENUE ALERT! Swipe to see where 'The Robots Are Coming' will be taking place in 2024 👀 👉 This year, we faced a bit of a hiccup in our live event planning... We're too popular! (No, seriously.) We've experienced some very welcome growth this year, so our beloved venues like Techspace and Shoreditch Treehouse just don't fit the bill anymore. 🪑 We never have enough seats. 🌡️ It's harder to control the temperature. 🚫 There's no room for people to have their own conversations. So it's with a heavy heart that we say goodbye 👋 to 70+ sized events... AND HELLO TO 150+ 🤩 First up: The Royal Institution. We'll be taking over the Royal Institution on 23rd January for our AI-themed event – The Robots Are Coming. It has been a week - we were at #vivatech2024 in Paris. An interview with Markus Neumann. We often tell how crucial it is for us as trend scouter to meet, see, feel trends - live. VivaTech in Paris is the largest tech and start-up venue. Dear Markus, you've attended the venue. * Which impressions do you take away from visiting VivaTech? * To sum up VivaTech in one sentence: a very impressive line-up from tech giants (Amazon, Microsoft, Nvidia, Meta were all present with own booths) blending in with French corporations showcasing their innovation initiatives. It made me happy to see an event like this in Europe. Bravo to France for making it happen! *What were your highlights?* The gems were hidden on the side stages. More niche and nerdy topics. If I had to name one highlight: the talk from AXA insurance about how they use next generation satellite data to improve the insurance process for commercial buildings. Very insightful and a trend of "satellite data" that we have on our radar. *Would you visit VivaTech again?* Yes, it is definitely worth a visit. I stayed for 2,5 days which was the ideal amount of time. A tip for everyone thinking about visiting next year: come prepared! Set yourself an agenda of what to see and what to leave out. A clear plan will make you get the maximum out of your visit. Now that the dust has settled since the AI Expo on National Competitiveness, we took the chance to reflect on what happened. 10,000 attendees, 150 exhibitors, and 440 speakers later, I think we did alright. :) But our work doesn't stop here.
