Was great chairing the discussion on "Unlocking Scope 3 Emissions" at BW Sustainability World Conclave with Bipin Odhekar, Pradeep Panigrahi, Ph. D., Sanjay Khare, Surya Prakash Valluri. Some key takeaways - 📈 We cannot reduce or offset what we can't measure. Scope 3 emissions emerged as a critical area, with challenges in measurement, especially in supply chain emissions, despite being 80-90% of the total emissions for some of the panelist companies. 🔍 The panel highlighted the evolving landscape of sustainability regulations, emphasizing the need for comprehensive strategies in response to changing mandates like BRSR. 🚀 Moving beyond compliance: Concerns were raised about companies focusing on minimum regulatory requirements instead of aiming for sustainability excellence. 🔑 Integrating sustainability into business objectives was a major theme.
