I appreciate that there’s a lot of requests to give money across all social media platforms so I ask even if you can’t donate that you share and engage with the post below, or anything related to this cause/charity https://lnkd.in/eC-MUREJ There’s no cure but your support and awareness will help to make those and the families of those affected by the disease a little bit more bearable, and who knows one day MND may be a thing of the past thanks to you!

On Saturday 1st June Oscar, my 14 year old son kicked off a challenge to raise funds and awareness for the Motor Neurone Disease (MND) Association. On Sunday 2nd June, we heard the awfully sad news that Rob Burrow had passed after loosing his battle with the terrible disease. The challenge seems even more pertinent. Oscar had awareness of MND as a rugby fan and hearing of players such as Doddie Weir, Ed Slater and Rob Burrow with their battle of the disease. Then last month, one of Oscar’s friends within our rugby community and colleague, from his part time job as a farm hand, also lost their father to the disease. It touched Oscar and he set about his research and decided to take on a personal challenge across June. He will be walking a minimum of 150 miles / 5 miles a day in between daily life, school, pre-season S&C and part time job. Today, he left his school mates at the bus stop and walked home, 5.5 miles to clock up the miles. I was torn whether to post this or not on LinkedIn however I have seen a number of posts relating to the passing of Rob Burrow, the impact he and Kevin Sinfield have made on the MND Community, and the vital research, awareness and funds that are required to combat this awful disease. Oscar would appreciate any support to share his challenge, raise awareness and of course any sponsorship. You can follow his story and updates here: https://lnkd.in/eHXArgqF I will not post regularly however will provide an update at the end of June where hopefully I can share that his target has been smashed. Thank you #TeamMND
