It's not just about looking at how many flights you take each month, we need to factor in the social aspects of your sustainability plan and how Clarity and One Global Travel can assist with it 🌍 ➡️ This might be finding sustainable suppliers in a certain region where we have partner TMC's, or it could be highlighting areas where we can do social good. Joining the One Global community allows you to work with the best independent TMC's across the globe to provide a truly sustainable environment by sharing the benefits worldwide in each local market. German companies keep increasing their efforts to make more climate-friendly decisions. Our recent survey revealed a significant uptick in their efforts compared to the previous year. Also, the willingness to invest in sustainable business travel is on the rise, with respondents indicating that they are willing to spend 69% more for environmentally responsible travel, compared to just 12 percent last year. That sounds ambitious – now words must be followed by deeds. At AirPlus International, we are committed to supporting companies with our climate-friendly solutions on their journey towards more sustainable business practices. Let's continue working together to drive positive change and create a more sustainable future for business travel and beyond.

[born 353ppm] Global Sustainability Lead @ FCM Consulting | Public Speaker | Futurologist | Lifestyle Tech Enthusiast #SustainabilityIsMoreThanCarbon #LowestLogicalEmission #EmissionTransition
As our global company commitments to sustainability, national & regional regulations, #SAF mandates, legal implications of marketing, and many other factors continue to increase in both complexity and frequency, the 'HOW TO...' of #Sustainability in #CorporateTravel is critical to the future success of your travel programme. With that being said, it's equally important to recognise that a sustainable corporate travel programme is not developed in a vacuum. What works for organisation A is not necessarily a blueprint for success for organisation B... I'm excited to be joining a terrific lineup of speakers including Matthew Patterson & Richard Thompson at the Business Travel News #BTNEVENTS - Business Travel Sustainability Summit Americas at Convene in New York City on the 8th of May! I will be delivering the topic of 'How to strategically select greener suppliers' and cannot wait to discuss this with the diverse group of industry friends and colleagues in attendance... If you simply can't wait, or won't be able to join us, then please do reach out to me and I'll be glad to share some of the latest opportunities in this space. *spoiler alert* #SustainabilityIsMoreThanCarbon & #LowestLogicalEmission are both more accessible than many of us realise, and large global travel programmes with hard to avoid long haul travel patterns are no longer firm barriers to prevent #EmissionTransition & #EmissionReduction #BusinessTravel #BTSSA #OneFCM #DiscoverTheAlternative

🤝 Bridging the 'Say-Do Gap' in Sustainability: Turning Intentions into Actions The latest ABTA (Association of British Travel Agents) Holiday Habits 2023-24 report unveils an eye-opening 'Say-Do Gap.' While 50% of respondents express a willingness to embrace sustainability, less than 17% have translated intentions into actions in their recent travel decisions. This discrepancy underscores the urgency for businesses to empower customers with eco-conscious recommendations. Notably, nearly half of the surveyed individuals seek guidance from travel companies on sustainable choices. Let's hear your perspective. What do you think we, as an industry, should collectively do to bridge the 'Say-Do Gap' in sustainability? Share your thoughts in the comments below and let's spark a meaningful conversation. #Sustainability #EcoChoices #SayDoGap #Responsibility #EnvironmentalImpact #SustainabilityDiscussion #SustainableTourism Mark Tanzer |

What is the Travel with Purpose Pact trying to accomplish with CSR initiatives as part of corporate events? 👥 PEOPLE: Helping people in need in the world, which makes the world a better place ❣ PURPOSE: Providing attendees with an opportunity to give back and feel engaged and connected in a way that only helping other people can do 💲 PROFIT: Increasing the ROI of the event Let's go deeper though, here's what else we want to do at the Travel with Purpose Pact: 🌍 Focus our initiatives on regenerative travel, which means working collaboratively across sectors to shift the focus and tourism dollars to local social enterprises and indigenous communities with the goal of sustainability 🦋 Provide opportunities for event attendees to participate in CSR initiatives that are TRANSFORMATIVE instead of TRANSACTIONAL. This article and infographic from Realized Worth explains the difference between "transformative" and "transactional" perfectly. Did you know that the Travel with Purpose Pact has a free blueprint for how to plan and execute three different CSR models as part of corporate events? If it's free and it will make your events better, why wouldn't you look at it (no, really!)? Here's a link to the blueprint: https://lnkd.in/ezs7-7St https://lnkd.in/e5p5NuXx Angela Parker #travelwithpurposepact #travelwithpurpose #sustainability #ESG #conference #meeting #retreat #incentivetravel #corporateevents #meetingplanner #CSR #travel #regenerativetravel #transformative

When the idea of #Agora was initially conceived, attempting to bring together a diverse group of experts in a gathering just before Christmas in London, I could not imagine the growth potential of this initiative. Agora is different from a forum or a day conference. There is no key speaker but expert representatives from various sectors of our industry: Destinations, comms, media, Tour Operators and Institutions. Each participant is empowered to contribute equally, fostering a democratic exchange of ideas in an open and honest dialogue on sustainability. Following the success of the #SustainableTravelAGORA in Incredible Crete where the takeaways below were discussed, it was time to envision the future steps of Agora during our breakfast meeting and the “white space” should fill in the buzzing tourism environment. 👈Effective communication: It’s vital to craft relatable and palatable messaging to reach a wider audience and encourage personal storytelling. 👈Collaborative narratives: Stress the need for a unified narrative between leadership, NGOs, and environmentalists to convey a clear and consistent message. 👈Citizen engagement: Advocate for involving citizens in driving change, as social pressure can be a catalyst for behavioural change. 👈Transformational Triangle: Explore the synergy between government, business and the third sector/NGO to develop holistic, long-term sustainable impact. 👈Community Involvement: Stress the importance of working with local communities rather than imposing new ideas, ensuring that sustainability efforts are a result of collective collaboration and understanding the broader benefits. 👈Inclusive sustainability: Highlight the importance of integrating by default the sustainable options into travel choices offered to consumers. 👈Measurement for accountability: Emphasise the need for measuring plastic use, waste, and carbon emissions as a starting point for accountability. 👈Supplier sustainability: Advocate for the creation of a handbook by Tour Operators to guide suppliers in adopting more sustainable practices. Special acknowledgments go to Debbie Flynn for her invaluable encouragement. This is an initiative beyond PR. As aptly expressed by Carol Rose, it is a Mastermind Agora meeting. #sustainability #travel #tourism

So good to connect with some old colleagues and meet new potential collaborators to reflect on sustainability in travel at today's #openmindset event organised by Karryon: Together In Travel. Some takeaways: 🤯 80% of travellers visit the same 10% of places. 🪑 While senior leaders will ultimately need to make big decisions and provide the authorising environment, change can be driven by anyone within an organisation who has the passion and information to share. Often the people with the least voice (eg young people) should be the ones with the seat at the table. 🪟 Transparency is key. No matter where you are on your sustainability journey, if you can set a clear vision about where you want to get to and communicate authentically and transparently about how you are tracking, partners will be willing to help you along that journey. #togetherintravel

Where does sustainability rank in your travel program? Would love to hear in the comments ♻️ “It’s time to make sustainability a strategic imperative.” BCD's VP Sustainability Olivia Ruggles-Brise, strongly believes that business travel can play an important role in ensuring a sustainable future. She says that it requires action, a new way of thinking, and a commitment to creating benefits that go beyond economic activity, job creation, and human connection.
