Over the past week we have been celebrating #INWED24 🔬 This included teaming up with local schools to give them an immersive experience at Enstone. For us, it’s important to be inspiring the next generation of young girls to show them the opportunities are there.

Participating in a #reentry simulation is an immersive experience that embodies why it is important to center lived experience. In #Charlotte, we're glad to see more ways for the #community to be with and not just read about the work we and other ecosystem partners do every day. Here's another way for YOU to opt in for #secondchances. https://lnkd.in/eA32gGvT

Former art majors are gonna art. #RevalueCities doodle together! 🎨 We're trying to create an engaged Community of Practice in the Re-Value Cities partnership. Our approach uses our precious F2F time together to ... Play! Create! Build Stories! Share our wins and fears! Empathise! Support! Inspire! and - most critically, Learn! from one another. We're testing different methods, finding what works well and not-so-well in a diverse #community, looking for the perfect balance of serious play to help us feel more connected to one another and bring new perspectives to our own cities' Big Challenges. Doodling may not change the world. But it's a super fun way to get five different people -- brought together through a shared interest and obligation -- to #cocreate something from nothing, find connection to a new place and new people, and start to create insights together. Do you do this too? What works for your #communityofpractice ?

Today, we’re looking forward to joining members of the NationSwell team and community for a three-day immersive experience in Montgomery, Alabama, where we’ll learn, explore, and connect deeply on the long legacy of slavery in America. NationSwell immersive experiences bring together cross-sector leaders to engage in locally specific, community-centric explorations and conversations that drive toward action. We go directly to an environment where learning can be a surround-sound experience; where we can grapple with a community’s history and present needs; where we can hear directly from the innovative leaders who are doing critical work in that place. Designed in partnership with Bryan Stevenson and the Equal Justice Initiative (EJI), this week’s immersive experience — “A Journey to Justice” — has been intentionally designed with the “place” in mind. Once home to one of the largest populations of enslaved Black people in the country — and, later, the heart of the Civil Rights movement — Montgomery is steeped in a powerful history that we believe is crucial to experience firsthand in order to fully reckon with the truth of racial injustice and inequality. At NationSwell, we remain deeply committed to the power of cross-sector collaboration, lifting up community voices, and using historic and realtime need as a barometer for the future solutions that will make our communities and world a better place. We’re so excited to kick things off in Montgomery — and for all of the future immersive experiences we hope to explore. #justice #economicempowerment #communityinvestment #racialjustice #inequality #equity #systemicchange

Working on design systems can feel lonely sometimes, so it's important to find time to connect and swap notes. That's why we started these community conversations! We can't wait for the next one! #designsystems #designcommunity #communitybuilding
This week has been a whirlwind, and it's only Wednesday! Feeling a lot like that "this is fine" dog 🔥🐶🔥 Which is honestly pretty apt because I hosted Supernova.io's very first "Our Design System Is Fine: Community Conversations" session this week. It's always a bit nerve-wracking to launch a new community program at a new job in a new industry, so I really appreciate the folks who've jumped in to participate and test the waters with me. Thank you Jeremy Dizon, Alissa Engstrom, Rebecca Sheldon, Tiffany Zheng & Yuvia for being in the very first group and having such an open conversation about your day-to-day work and challenges in design systems. I learned a ton from you all and can't believe how quickly those 90 minutes flew by 💫

What an amazing 2023! It’s so easy to forget all the past achievements during January of a new year, when everybody’s focus immediately shifts to new horizons and opportunities, which nonetheless is important, but we must also not forget where we came from, and all we have achieved and learned in the process. #earlyintervention #earlyyears #independentschools #behavioranalysis
Celebrating an awesome year at First Bridge. Thanks for being part of our journey and here's to 2024! ✨ #2023recap #autismschool #autismcentre #senschool #earlyintervention

2𝒏𝒅 𝑬𝒑𝒊𝒔𝒐𝒅𝒆: 𝑺𝒕𝒂𝒓𝑼𝒑 𝑶𝒓𝒊𝒈𝒊𝒏𝒔 - 𝑺𝒆𝒆𝒌𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒕𝒉 𝑭𝒊𝒓𝒔𝒕 𝑺𝒕𝒂𝒓 In the universe of StarUp, each star radiates its unique light. Before StarUp was officially established in 2019, the blueprint of this universe had quietly taken root back in 2015. At that time, the first product of “Happy Melody Message” was born—a creation that blended love and art, jointly crafted by Jade (the founder of StarUp) and her daughter Melody (the first artist of StarUp). Initially, this product served as a heartfelt gift for family and friends. It also became an expressive outlet for Jade, who cared for youths with intellectual disabilities (YID). However, its impact far exceeded expectations. Not only did it bring positive energy, but in some cases, it even saved lives. This profound experience touched not only Jade but also inspired other parents. They saw the potential of art to transform their children’s lives and sought a path to pave the way for their future. And so, the concept of StarUp began to sprout—a dream seed germinating under the boundless starry sky, ready to embark on a brilliant journey of light. 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐔𝐩’𝐬 5𝐭𝐡 𝐀𝐧𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐚𝐫𝐲: 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐁𝐲 𝐌𝐞 StarUp’s unwavering commitment to providing diverse employment opportunities for youth with intellectual disabilities (YID) has led us to this significant milestone. Today, as we celebrate, let’s pause and cherish the memories—the dreams, the pursuit, the resilience, and the affirmations that have shaped our path. 𝐔𝐩𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐄𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭 📍 2024 𝐀𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐚 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐔𝐩 𝐄𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 Let's support StarUp’s ongoing operations, take action now! 🏃🏻♀️🏃🏻♂️ Click here for more details: https://lnkd.in/gppsX2fv .
