Leaders need to improve just as much as the average worker. Great leaders understand that continuous improvement is a necessity for successful organizations. You don't always have to be "the expert." In fact, that attitude is often a turn-off for most employees. I love what author, Yeo Chuen Chuen says: “[Leaders] are expected to provide the answers, or they expect themselves to provide the answers, but actually, answers are to be discovered together, through a series of failures.” When we fail together, we grow together. 🤝🏻🌱 #HR #Leadership #LeadershipStrategy

Leaders play a crucial role in setting the tone and direction of an organization. But even the best leaders face challenges. Leaders often lead with the mindset that they have to be the experts—having to have all the answers—and that’s why the leaders are so stressed out. #HRLeaders #WorkforceManagement

A skilled leader doesn't just manage; they inspire, guide and empower their teams to thrive. 🚀 But here's the thing: great leadership isn't just about technical skills. It's about developing self-awareness, empathy and strategic thinking – qualities that ripple throughout your workplace. 🏆 Whether you're a seasoned director or an aspiring leader, coaching can unlock your leadership potential and drive tangible results. It bridges the gap between knowing and doing, transforming theoretical knowledge into impactful action. 🌐 Gallup's insight is a powerful reminder: investing in leadership development isn't a luxury; it's a strategic necessity. CEO @ Advanture | Leadership Development and Coaching | Building Talent and Shaping Culture | Employee Engagement, Development, and Retention
Why not be the kind of leader that builds leaders of teams and teams of leaders? If you are more collaborative than command & control; if you want to develop talent and bring out the best in your people instead of nailing everything down from the top; if you don't self-identify with Genghis Kahn, Vlad the Impaler, and Dick Cheney, then you might appreciate this alternative route to great leadership. Or if you just want to advance from Situational Leadership (which should really be called "situational supervision") to world class participatory leadership, follow this path: Blanchard, Zigarmi, and Zigarmi, Leadership and the One Minute Manager (William Morrow 1985). [Good and practical introduction to situational leadership. The same L4 method is applied to managing teams in: High Performing Teams by Blanchard, Carew, & Parisi-Carew (William Morrow, 1990).] Jim Collins, Good to Great (Harper Business 2001), chapter 2, “Level 5 Leadership.” [Solid and famous introduction to “facilitative leadership.” Takes the traditional books on situational leadership up to the next level: from situational supervision to participatory and facilitative leadership.] Ronald Heifetz, Leadership without Easy Answers (Belknap Press, Harvard, 1994) and James O’Toole, Leading Change (Ballantine, 1996). [Advanced leadership; world class books that take participatory, facilitative leadership to the highest level—in a traditional/MBA kind of style.] And finally: Jim Collins & Jerry Porras, Built to Last (Harper Business 1997) [Brilliant descriptions of leading from behind the scenes and designing the organization to support employee & business success.] Peter Block, Community (Berrett-Koehler, 2008). [Block takes it up to the next level again using leading edge / progressive change & facilitation strategies. How to build and engage teams & communities for action. This book is -- sort of -- a little less MBA and a little more human -- but tons of quality ideas, research, and information.] #leadership #leadershipdevelopment #talentdevelopment #coaching #collaborativeleadership #teamwork

In the last month, I have delivered at least 3 workshops and multiple coaching sessions that are focused on becoming more effective leaders and healthier organizations. These leaders are feeling the pain of broken trust, opposing priorities, high turnover of high performers, serious unresolved conflicts between leaders, and missed targets that are key to the organization’s success. If you are feeling the pain of a leadership team in conflict, missing priorities, leading in silos, or missing the bottom line, let’s talk. #healthyteams #leadershipteams #executiveleaders #coaching #healthyorganizations https://lnkd.in/gzni6_V4

🌟 Exploring Leadership Styles: Servant Leadership vs. Traditional Leadership 🌟 In the dynamic landscape of leadership, the approaches we adopt play a pivotal role in shaping organizational cultures and fostering growth. Let's dive into the intriguing dichotomy of Servant Leadership and Traditional Leadership. 🔍 Traditional Leadership: Traditionally, leaders have been perceived as authoritative figures, often making decisions top-down. Command and control have been the norm, with an emphasis on achieving goals and maintaining structure. While effective in certain contexts, this approach may sometimes stifle innovation and limit employee engagement. ✨ Servant Leadership: On the flip side, Servant Leadership puts the focus on serving others first. It's a transformative approach where leaders prioritize the well-being and development of their team members. By empowering and supporting their teams, servant leaders foster a culture of collaboration, trust, and continuous improvement. 🤝 Key Contrasts: 1. Purpose: · Traditional Leadership: Goal-oriented, emphasizing task completion. · Servant Leadership: People-centric, focusing on personal and professional development. 2. Decision-Making: · Traditional Leadership: Centralized decision-making by leaders. · Servant Leadership: Inclusive decision-making, involving and valuing input from team members. 3. Heirarchy: · Traditional Leadership: Hierarchical structures with clear lines of authority. · Servant Leadership: Emphasis on flattening hierarchies and promoting a sense of community. 4. Motivation: · Traditional Leadership: Often relies on external motivation (rewards, punishments). · Servant Leadership: Encourages intrinsic motivation, fostering a sense of purpose and fulfilment. 5. Long-Term Impact: · Traditional Leadership: May achieve short-term goals efficiently. · Servant Leadership: Sustainable impact, cultivating a resilient and engaged workforce. 🚀 Striking a Balance: The evolving workplace calls for leaders who can blend elements of both styles. A servant leader can navigate challenges with empathy while maintaining a results-driven mind-set. Striking this balance is key to cultivating a positive, adaptive, and high-performing organizational culture. 💬 Your Thoughts: What's your take on leadership styles? Do you resonate more with one approach, or do you see value in a hybrid model? Share your insights and let's continue the conversation on #LeadershipJourney! 🌐 #ServantLeadership #TraditionalLeadership #LeadershipStyles #LeadershipDevelopment

I couldn't agree more with the powerful benefits of transformational leadership outlined here by Felicia. I've seen firsthand the positive impact that this style of leadership can have on employee engagement, innovation, and overall performance. One aspect that stands out to me is her emphasis on enhanced employee engagement. When leaders prioritize open communication and empower their teams, it creates an environment where employees feel valued and motivated. This sense of purpose and belonging not only leads to higher levels of engagement but also reduces turnover rates. Engaged employees are more likely to stay with the organization, resulting in a more stable and productive workforce. Transformational leadership is a powerful approach that has numerous benefits for both employees and organizations. #TransformationalLeadership #EmployeeEngagement #Innovation

The Powerful Benefits of Transformational Leadership Transformational leadership is a leadership style with an emphasis on vision, motivation, and personal development. Here are some key benefits: 1. Enhanced Employee Engagement: They encourage open communication, provide a clear vision, and empower their teams to take ownership of their work. This environment fosters a sense of purpose and belonging. According to a study conducted by Gallup, organizations with highly engaged employees experience 21% higher profitability, resulting in reduced turnover rates and increased productivity. 2. Innovation and Creativity. Transformational leaders inspire innovation by fostering a culture of experimentation and risk-taking. They encourage their teams to challenge the status quo and develop novel solutions to complex problems.
