Albion Fit’s Post

What a fun feature to wake up to! So grateful for the many great partners we’ve had over the years that have championed ALbion. Our company is composed of 99% women and a group of men who support us and collaborate with us every day. Albion distinguishes itself with its unique designs and quality products, but also, because of a community that challenges eachother to be our best selves. We are ambitious but we are kind and we can attribute that mindset to our talented team. Together, we’ve accomplished some pretty spectacular things— 12 years into this, and there is still so much more to do, together.

It’s an honor to be the keynote speaker at this year’s Women’s Symposium at the University of Utah, my alma mater, and yes, recently voted Best Public University in the West. To combine my passion for women in leadership with an institution I love so dearly is a privilege. I met Dave while attending the U and I received both a BA and an MA in English Lit there. The rigorous education I received prepared me for a career I never intended to pursue. I was blessed to have several very impactful female professors as mentors and leaders and a co-hort of ambitious and brilliant women I worked alongside. Many years have passed, but I look forward to sharing a message at this symposium that has been a driving force for me and Dave throughout our journey building Albion. To build a great team, to do great things, you need to be ALL IN. The reward has expanded way beyond any entrepreneurial goals we ever made for ourselves. It has been 12 years of watching others lead with courage and vulnerability, testing creative waters, taking chances every day that have built lifelong relationships, grown an expansive international community, and lead to both professional and personal growth. There’s a season for everything and there were other ventures Dave and I entertained before Albion Fit, where we learned important lessons and experienced critical setbacks, but I can tell you that we didn’t taste success in its many flavors until we went ALL IN. Thank you to the University of Utah for inviting me to share our experience this Spring. What an honor.
