Naval forces possess significant firepower, the ability to transport and deploy troops, and the capacity to conduct various operations at sea.On the other hand, the Air Force is recognized for its air superiority capabilities, long-range strike capabilities, and its ability to control airspace. With advanced fighter aircraft, bombers, surveillance, and intelligence assets, the Air Force plays a critical role in maintaining control over the skies and supporting military operations.It's also worth noting that military strength should not be measured solely by the size of the force or the amount of equipment. Factors such as technological advancements, training, logistics, command and control structures, intelligence capabilities, and strategic partnerships all contribute to a military's overall strength.

Rather than Big Navy “wishing these ships away", it should instead install the lethality and survivability upgrades that have been proposed for the ship class. These upgrades will make the ships viable warships, employable to any theater. The propulsion glitch has been corrected. The Navy needs every hull it can muster. Not every mission, even in a high-end fight requires an Aegis DDG. Furthermore, four or five appropriately uppgraded Freedom class LCS, forward deployed to Bahrain, with the SSMM and the latest EW gear could give the Iranians pause. The short fuel "legs" of this class would not be a significant limiting factor in the confined waters of the Gulf. The Marines and ESG-3 in the Pacific are demonstrating what can be done with the Independence class of LCS. With the proper upgrades that have already been engineered for the class, the Freedom class could also contribute to the Fight.
