The program commences in July for an initial cohort of 256 pilots - intended to allow smooth integration of the new aircraft into the fleet, with 1,000 pilots trained on the type eventually. The framework - whereby IATA provide CBTA guidance; the OEM specific aircraft knowledge; and the airline its training and operational experience - is a pragmatic approach to delivering the simple-to-understand but challenging in practice concept of CBTA.
