Happy International Women's Day to all!
I had to jump in and join the fun of it all. What a great day to recognize amazing women, and my list is LONG!
However if I am being honest, at Patra Corporation, it kinda feels like every day is International Women's Day. With a workforce comprising nearly 75% women in the US and 55% globally, we simply can't recognize the significant impact women make in our lives in a single day – so we've found ways to celebrate all year-round. It's a good problem to have and I am here for it!
Our globally active ERG, empowHER, ensures there's no shortage of outreach and support. From honoring Women of Influence in our awards ceremonies to hosting inspiring guest speakers and even curating thoughtful newsletters shared with 6,000+ employees, our commitment to both recognizing women and amplifying their voices makes me proud.
Today we celebrated in a few of our offices with touching tributes, fun activities, and cake. Next week, we're gearing up for a global discussion where panelists from several of the countries Patra calls home will share ideas on overcoming bias, being more inclusive, and sharing tips to #CountHerIn.
Around here we know that celebrating women has to go beyond formal events; because the real value is when it is woven into your workplace culture. To support this, collectively we aim to amplify each other's voices in meetings, which creates a collaborative and supportive environment where everyone feels heard and wants to participate. We prioritize work-life balance and make it normal to knock out a report then go cheer at the softball game or attend the soccer practice (or both on the same day). It is a great feeling to say I honestly don't feel shy about fitting in a self-care routine or popping in a load of laundry between meetings.
I'm proud to be part of a team that uplifts women's voices and stories every day of the year, and allows me the flexibility, support, and guidance to make my own story.
And yes, we're hiring – just ask my friend Elizabeth Cocks, MS.
