Recently, Air Products' employee resource groups SPECTRUM and Enable hosted an impactful event on intersectionality and belonging, featuring accomplished coach, speaker, and writer, Carson Tueller (center). Air Products' employees were interested to learn about Tueller's challenges and successes exploring the notions of freedom, identity and self-discovery.

Why does everyone who gets to know us want to work at Helix?
Here's our secret:
A people first mentality.
A workplace where people feel truly cared for, respected and heard.
This leads to an infectious culture where:
- You want to work hard. Going above and beyond because the work and relationships with team members feels rewarding.
- You want to do well. Pushing to create more effective solutions for clients, more impact, more productivity and scale.
- You want to get feedback and understand that it's to help you grow. Even when it comes with a Jersey accent 😉
That's why our team achieves results like Platinum AT&T partner in a year - unheard of!
Or getting ReachTV connectivity in Airports across the USA in under 10 days! Just in time for NFL screening. When no one else could.
Importantly this also shows up in our hiring policies:
We choose people for attitude over aptitude.
Skills can be learned - the right mindset is priceless.
What's your culture like? Are you excited to be back at work in 2024?

“Hiring employees with neurodiverse backgrounds solves not only the workforce challenges manufacturers have right now but helps us fulfill a value important to Morrison - helping our community. We’d be missing out on valuable contributors to the workforce without embracing workforce initiatives like this that can make a difference in our organizations and the world around us.”

Diversity and inclusion are essential components of a successful workplace. When done right, it can lead to a range of benefits that include increased innovation, higher employee engagement, improved decision-making, and a better understanding of the market. However, there are also pitfalls to avoid that can hinder the success of diversity and inclusion efforts.
Benefits:
Increased Innovation: A diverse team brings a range of perspectives, experiences, and skill sets, leading to more innovative ideas and solutions. This can lead to a competitive edge in the market.
Higher Employee Engagement: When employees feel valued and included, they are more engaged and committed to their work, leading to higher job satisfaction and retention rates.
Improved Decision-Making: A diverse team can bring a broader range of ideas and perspectives to the table, leading to better decision-making and problem-solving.
Better Understanding of the Market: A diverse team can better understand the needs and wants of a diverse market, leading to better customer satisfaction and loyalty.

Pitfalls:
Tokenism: Hiring a diverse workforce for the sake of appearance without genuinely valuing their contributions can be detrimental and lead to employee dissatisfaction.
Groupthink: Even a diverse team can fall into the trap of groupthink, where ideas are not challenged or critically analyzed, leading to subpar decisions.
Unconscious Bias: Despite best intentions, unconscious bias can influence decision-making, hiring, and promotion processes, leading to underrepresented groups being overlooked.
Poor Communication: Diversity can lead to misunderstandings, miscommunications, and conflict if not addressed proactively.
To avoid these pitfalls, organizations need to commit to a genuine and ongoing effort to promote diversity and inclusion. This includes providing training, setting clear expectations, establishing accountability, and continuously evaluating progress. By doing so, organizations can reap the benefits of a diverse and inclusive workforce and create a culture that celebrates and values differences.

Today is a special day for BLK BOX as we celebrate our 12th birthday! 🎉
To mark the occasion, we're excited to share a fly-through video showcasing how we manufacture our equipment and what sets us apart as a business.
From day one, myself and the team have tried to build a sustainable and mission driven company that makes a difference. Early on in my career I learned about the concept of missionaries & mercenaries in business from John Doerr and have always strived to build a mission driven company.
So, what sets missionaries apart from mercenaries in business? Here are a few key differences:
-Global Impact: Missionaries prioritise contributing to the greater good and building a global community, rather than solely focusing on immediate gains.
-Cultivating Relationships: Unlike mercenaries who prioritise short-term gains, missionaries invest time in building lasting relationships.
- Ethical Foundations: Missionaries operate with a strong ethical compass, making decisions that align with values and principles. This commitment to integrity fosters a positive company culture and enhances reputation, which is vital for sustained success.
-Employee Engagement: Companies led by missionaries attract and retain top talent due to their compelling mission and vision.
-Innovation at the Core: Missionaries are innovators by nature, driven to create solutions that address real-world challenges.
While we know we're not perfect, we're committed to continuously improving and getting 1% better every day #DemandMore#WinAsOne
Nice work!
