Sometimes, when we are discouraged, we are tempted to believe that only the lucky people receive the best opportunities and that we just don't have that lucky quality. However, anyone can be lucky when we put in the work to step into the right place at the right time. ✅ "It is through curiosity and looking at opportunities in new ways that we've always mapped our path" ~ Michael Dell If you know about Young African Leadership Initiative you'll know the impact it has created worldwide since its launch in 2010. The Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI) has had a positive impact on the African continent. It has provided educational and economic opportunities for young Africans, and has facilitated the growth of a more vibrant civil society in many countries. YALI has also increased global awareness of Africa and its potential to become a leader in the world economy. Furthermore, YALI has encouraged African nations to work together on issues of shared concern, leading to increased collaboration and mutual understanding among African countries. Launched in 2010, YALI is composed of three programs designed to complement one another by providing a variety of resources and avenues of opportunity: the Regional Leadership Centers (RLCs), the Mandela Washington Fellowship, and the YALI Network. If you are below 35 years of age, these are some of the opportunities available to shape your future. Don't pull down the shade when the window opens. It is always a great joy to the beneficiaries when the sound of YALI is heard 😍😍😍💛💜❤🧡✌ I was glad to be part of the #YALIRLC #Cohort43 as a #Guest to deliver on topic: "How To Be Aligned For Funding" This is our time as African Youths to take charge of our destinies. #yali2023 #yalinetwork #yali #yalitransformation #training #capacitybuilding #leadershipdevelopment #leadershipskills #youthleadership #youthempowerment #Africa #africanexcellence 📸 Excerpts

Being the current president of The Africa Education Initiative (N.E.F) UNIZIK chapter is one of my biggest strides in leadership. My executives and I in our last meeting discussed projects we intend to carry out while the reins of leadership of this club are in our hands. Our projects are targeted towards improving Education in Africa by making impact no matter how small it is in our environment which is the primary aim of the club. This is quite challenging as we are combining this with academics but it's part of growth and personal development. I believe my team and myself can do it. #personaldevelopment #awakeningmytruepotential #responsibleleadership #responsiveleadership

"I think it’s really important for women to communicate with other women, to motivate each other. Swimming is an individual sport, it’s not a team game. You swim for yourself. But as an entrepreneur I know how important it is to have a network around you. Women can support and encourage each other and that’s vital for our success in business." I just love these words from Betty M., who runs Swim Africa and is one of the women who took part in our Road to Leadership training in Nairobi. Chief Marketing Officer | Pan-African Operator, versed in Strategy, Marketing, Product Development, Recruitment, Digital Marketplaces, Media, Fintech, and Coaching. Always eager to learn and teach.
One key leadership trait I have learned and imbibed over many years is “Equip the right people and let them do their thing.” This is my version of the famous “Hire smart people and get out of their way” quote. Lucky Ekanem, a trusted team member, is a living testament to the veracity of this quote. During my official trip to Nigeria a few months ago, Lucky and his team, fresh from their successful Informal Sector Roundtable event, banded together to shoot an Employee Spotlight video of me at the Jobberman Nigeria office. All I had to do was show up, and Lucky and the team (Henry Egbe, Tobi Dada, Damilola Abati) gave me all the necessary direction. They set the scene, shot the video, and oversaw production collaboratively, showcasing the power of teamwork. This makes a successful team: having the right people with the right resources doing the right things. As you can see in his repost of the post below, he has already written a great story behind the video, beating me to it. 🙂 Lucky Ekanem, I want to express my gratitude for your outstanding work. You've made me, Jobberman Nigeria, and all The African Talent Company (TATC) Brands look great and have set a high standard for our team. 🙌 #Teamwork #Leadership #Creativity #Excellence
