Today I’m delighted to announce the launch of Harmonic Security and our $7m seed funding round: https://lnkd.in/g776d6YV
I wanted to share a bit of background about what problems Harmonic is solving, and why that is so close to my heart.
Harmonic has a new approach to the data protection space, that initially helps companies to adopt Generative AI without risking the security and privacy of their data.
From over a decade running Digital Shadows, I know all too well how much sensitive data ends up exiting the enterprise. Our existing, legacy data protection measures are not working and mostly tick a compliance box alone. We can do better.
Our new approach is like having a human data protection expert reviewing every piece of data leaving an organization, stopping IP, code, customer information and other sensitive data getting where it shouldn’t, without additional friction for employees or the security team.
Our initial focus is on helping organizations adopt Generative AI applications and models without worrying about their sensitive data being exposed.
I’m joined by co-founder and former Digital Shadows CTO Bryan Woolgar-O'Neil and an incredible team and we’re excited to get started.
If you’d like to know more, please do reach out. You’ll be hearing a lot more from us, no doubt.

2yFor those of us who were in the original PGP startup, many were early proponents of individual privacy — (we had the first cookie cutter) — and tried to stand against the survelience hive we now find ourselves a part of. Too bad Zimmerman sold out to the system. I remember him coming into my office and sitting on my desk after selling the company to Network Associates and bragging how well he had done for himself and his family. So much for fearless leaders.
