Bankers Bonus cap scrapped. https://lnkd.in/eDQQncJp Fair enough if this Government in its dying days decides to reward the rich but making the FCA & PRA complicit and making them pretend this is a good thing for regulation, is nonsense. The FCA then have to write nonsense. "1.14 Similarly, the FCA considers the change to implementation would mainly advance its integrity and competition objectives in the following ways: (a) Having the flexibility to restructure pay faster should allow for a greater proportion of total pay to be subject to incentive setting tools within the remuneration framework sooner, which in turn could contribute to a better alignment of incentives and financial rewards with principles of effective risk management, good conduct, and the long-term interests of the firms. This is likely to foster better market conduct and prudent risk management, thereby discouraging behaviours that can lead to misconduct and poor customer outcomes, and improving the safety and soundness of dual-regulated firms and the wider financial system, (b) From a competition perspective, firms could, for example, compete for and attract new talent sooner, and more generally, UK firms could be able to compete more effectively when doing business in jurisdictions where there is no bonus cap."

A big unintended problem today from the pressure to raise minimum and entry-level wages is the #WageCompression. There is no mechanism to meaningfully un-compress the wages today without pushing all wages up at incredible cost and little value (#MoreMoney does not equal #BetterMoney) Except one - the #ValueOfServiceAward (#VOSA), which adds a length-of-service dimension to the employee compensation, to recognize and reward the value of experience, proven character, and company-specific knowledge.
