A shared creative process In my experience, I have found that there is a distinctly positive relationship between the quality of architecture and the architect's access to the owner. The potential richness in their discussions yields a better-framed design program and more creative and satisfying response. This article observes that the outstanding recent public buildings in Belgium are the result of an architect selection model that "is a transparent, un-anonymous and collaborative process, radically different to any other international architecture competition, bringing back the idea of building as a shared creative process instead of a bureaucratic delegation of specified tasks." #architecture #architects #buildings #civic #public #quality #cities https://lnkd.in/gqvdDhfz

🎙️ Architectural Talks | Federico Pompignoli, co-founder of Studio 7478 During Daniel Elber's interview with Federico Pompignoli, we discussed the crucial role of #constructionasecco in redevelopment projects. 🔆 Federico emphasized how these techniques ensure not only speed of installation and cost control, but also some reversibility, keeping open the possibility of future adaptations. We also explored the issue of modularity in contemporary architecture. Federico believes that while maintaining a share of creative freedom, the use of industrial products and solutions is now indispensable. Read the full interview to find out more about Federico Pompignoli's ideas and his vision for architecture 👉🏼 https://bit.ly/43aibGO In talking about offsite, Federico stressed the importance of precision and quality that only industrial technologies can guarantee. These solutions contribute to #sustainability by efficiently managing resources and reducing waste. 📢 His experience with the #FondazionePrada was an important source of lessons and examples of how these techniques can be successfully applied, in fact, he tells us that "what I think was actually a good result was controlling a certain level of quality in a ubiquitous way in the various buildings of the project, with different materials and different technologies involved, thus being able to manage the project and ensure a good standard of quality and attention to detail. There are over 65,000 architecture firms in the United States. My great friend and business partner, John Marx, is one of the three principals and Chief Artistic Officer of Form4 Architecture. To celebrate the Fourth of July, Architizer ranked Form4 as 21st within the Top 100 Design Firms in the United States, measured by their achievement of design excellence. John is my mentor. He helps me deeply understand art, the Burning Man culture, and why we must profoundly care for each other so our newfound Humanity can envelop Our Planet. John, I’m so, so proud to be your friend. John Marx, AIA, is a co-founding principal and chief artistic officer of Form4 Architecture in San Francisco. He is responsible for developing Form4 Architecture’s design vision and philosophical language. John balances expressive design, rigor, empathy and sustainability to create captivating buildings and spaces that resonate with people and enhance their lives. To return a sense of humanity back into architecture, he advocates for the inclusion of Philosophy, Art, and Poetry in the thoughtful making of place by creating emotionally resonant architecture and urban spaces. He is a part time student of Absurdity, Paradox, Kindness, and Balance. Form4 Architecture believes in returning a sense of humanity to modernism through emotional meaning and poetic design. John’s firm, Form4 Architecture, achieved the rank of 21st in the country according to key statistics that demonstrated each firm’s level of architectural excellence. The following metrics have been accumulated to establish each architecture firm’s ranking: The number of A+Awards won (2013 to 2024): 2 The number of A+Awards finalists (2013 to 2024): 7 The number of projects selected as “Featured Project” (2009 to 2024): 12 The number of projects uploaded to Architizer (2009 to 2024): 26 https://lnkd.in/gcUf6QQb
