CLOSING SOON! 3 Square Art - New Horizons: Landscapes 24, 7th Annual Exhibition - Landscapes are one of the long-time subjects for artists taking in the beauty of their surroundings and representing what they see. But how has it changed in recent times? What new connections to our surroundings will be found or lost? The landscapes around us are dramatically changing as well as our relation to nature. Furthermore, will we see landscapes as mere replications or photographs or can we apply color, light, design and texture to represent the larger essence of what we see or experience. Just as impressionism, then cubism radically changed our perception of landscape art, what new interpretations are present today? We would like to see large as well as small formats. Broad strokes, fresh outlooks, meaningful dialogs, colorful blends or a monochromatic study... What's on the horizon for new landscape work? Juried by the 3 Square Art Gallery. $700 in cash awards. DEADLINE: December 17, 2023. https://lnkd.in/e3fCrrD4 #TheArtList #3SquareArt #NewHorizons

Announcing: ‘Nature Magnified’ My solo art exhibition and open reception. Where: David Lyall Home & Design, 241 N Prince St, Lancaster, PA When: May 5, 2023, 5-8 pm NATURE MAGNIFIED is a collection of large-scale acrylic paintings highlighting individual aspects of the natural world. The works in this series enhance the design elements that make up their larger wholes through the exploration of color, texture, and light. Each piece takes on a life of its own from inception to unanticipated outcomes. As a result, the work depicts my “interpretation” of natural beauty. Apart from highlighting the obvious, the sheer size of the subject matter forces the viewer to dive deeper. Color guides the eye to seek harmony and repetition or to examine design beyond color. Texture adds a sense of depth and complexity through high-relief ornamentation, pattern details, and my own organic style. Through the incorporation of metallic paint colors, light transforms what the viewer sees from different angles and during different times of day under natural or artificial light. Overall, the series invites the viewer to take a fascinating journey of exploration beyond the obvious to amplify the appreciation for nature and all the tiny natural elements that surround us. #naturemagnified #artexhibition #melissaszaneartist https://lnkd.in/eQTZSCEe

Daphné Mandel at ART021 SHANGHAI Contemporary Art Fair 9-12 November 2023 Shanghai Exhibition Center - Gallery EXIT - Booth E32 Enquiry: info@galleryexit.com Image: [Look at the View], 2023 Daphné Mandel Mixed media acrylic on canvas, 120 x 160 cm At the edges of Hong Kong, landscapes have gone through gradual change and lost their rural character. Because of their relatively low density development and surviving heritage features, these areas are in between-spaces that don’t fall into the usual categorisation of “urban“ or “rural”. They are the fringes. They are chaotic, dislocated and yet have a common identity. I am trying to comprehend that incomprehensible identity. The reminiscences of life that overlap with the signs of pending or ongoing demolition make these last traces of human presence even more vivid. They constitute Hong Kong’s collective memories, but in and of themselves are an addition of unique stories. www.art021.org www.daphnemandel.com

Thank you Cristina for this interesting article in the Luxury Tribune highlighting the emergence of original artists who innovate through the power of what they convey to the audience and the way they distinguish themselves with the topics they address. Among them, the implication of Technology for our Humanity or "more broadly, the loneliness, which the artists allows us to feel in our flesh as never before." In other words, how #digitallyConnected we are in an #emotionallyDisconnected world and the importance of staying #humanlyConnected sharing #emotionalIntelligence and #HumanExperiences to differenciate ourselves and stay competitive in an ever evolving fast-paced world. #Art has #impact: it allows to question and bring an external perspective on the business and individuals. It also enhances #EmotionalIntelligence through #interactive #sensory #ArtPerformances. Discover more, contact us info@headsonart.ch

Artificial Rome #INTERPLAY We created a generative installation within the atrium of the Humboldt Forum in Berlin. The seventeen-metre-tall artwork, displayed on a towering screen sculpture spans across three floors of the museum. The permanent installation is visible from every angle inside the atrium. The frames change so that they appear differently at any given time. This means that visitors can experience an ever-changing simulation of the elements every time they pass through the atrium. INTERPLAY is a permanent installation, 10 meters high wrapped in an everlasting simulation of wind and water, causing erosions, while the eroded mountains in return cause the tides to shift. The generative artwork consists of a real-time environment that runs a realistic simulation of how tides and stones interconnect over time. The time variable is sped up one thousandfold, so the visitors of the Humboldt Forum see a simulation of the impact on earth's landscape over the next million years. If you are in Berlin this is not to be missed! #interplay Learn more https://lnkd.in/e7fQns22 Artificial Rome Patrik de Jong Dirk Hoffmann Torsten Sperling-Ufer #artificialrome #interplay #culture #art #artandtechnology #virtualreality #immersiveexperiences #artandculture

#Dresden #artteft #weenix #provenance #provenanceresearch #arthistory #restitution #collectionmanagement #récolement Dresden Museum "had no image of the missing painting. The inventory number on the back also did not match with the Dresden inventory number, so it took some time to identify the painting conclusively." On the importance of good collection management practices: photograph the work, make sure it is accessioned, and mark it with the correct accession number. The provenance could have been established years earlier - maybe even 1984 when it came back on the market, had the museum adopted these (hopefully, it is the case at The British Museum). https://lnkd.in/eWYkmygu
