So your open source product has thousands of GitHub stars, a vast developer community, and millions of Docker pulls. 💪 For developer-focussed sales and marketing teams, the pressing question then becomes: how can we transition these open source users into enterprise customers? 💰 After speaking with hundreds of open-source companies, we’ve identified crucial signals that can influence the conversion from open source use to enterprise deals. We've built these intent signals into Reo.Dev, which is already enhancing monetization strategies for over 25 leading dev tool companies. 🚦 In this episode of 'The Modern DevTool GTM Brew', I'm sharing a playbook on the key signals to watch out for when converting open-source users to enterprise customers. RUST! 🦀 Everyone I know that tries Rust swears by it, but I'm still too scared of it. Regardless, Tim is awesome to talk to. #1 person I think of when I think of Rust. Led some major Rust education efforts within AWS and wrote the popular Rust In Action book. Covered a lot of stuff here, including how to pick up Rust, as well as some of the criticisms of Rust. Tim also shared a bunch about being a creator and what that's like -- good and bad. Check it out :) And buy Tim's book!
We're back with another episode of Software Huddle. Join us in this engaging conversation. All about Rust with Tim McNamara ⚙ In today's episode with Tim McNamara , we talk all about Rust. Tim is one of the leading educators in the whole Rust educational space. He wrote the Rust in Action book, which is probably the best Rust book out there. He has a YouTube channel, he taught and did a lot of educational work on Rust at Amazon AWS. We talked about object ownership and object lifetimes and just all these interesting things that Rust has and why is this language loved by so many and why it's continuing to grow. He also gets into what it's like being an independent educator, creator, and some of the difficulties with that, how to get started, and how he deals with doubt. That's the power of choosing the right file system. #TechUpgrade
This company improved their Kafka produce tail latency by over 80% when they switched from ext4 to xfs. What I enjoyed most about this article is the detailed analysis and tweaking the team made to ext4 before considering switching to xfs. This is a classic case of how a good tech blog looks like in my opinion, Allegro, the company, folks did a good job In this video I cover - How Kafka Works? - Why Producers Writes are Slow - How Allegro Traced the Kafka Protocol - How Tracing Kernel System Calls - What is a Journaled File Systems - How Allegro Tuned ext4 - And finally Switching to XFS Video https://lnkd.in/g29GxMw6 Podcast https://lnkd.in/gmsGQfEe Original Blog https://lnkd.in/gHW9_b8z
