Using sketch blocks

- [Lecturer] Blocks are independent non solving sketches that can be used in a variety of ways inside of SOLIDWORKS. The most common would be to copy a sketch and then use that sketch somewhere else in your design. By creating a block, all the entities in the block become frozen and then can be manipulated as a whole. We can save blocks for later use, as well as open blocks that were created in SOLIDWORKS format or in other formats like the AutoCAD DWG and DXF formats. To use and work with blocks, we need to open up the blocks toolbar, and I can show you how to do that right over here. So right click anywhere in this gray area up here, you can right click and say Toolbars. It's also available actually over here if you right click over here. Click on Toolbars and come down here to blocks. Turn on Blocks and now I got this little toolbar here. Sometimes it shows up up here in the upper corner or over here.
