Applying materials, colors, and finishes

- [Instructor] In this video, we're going to be working with and applying materials, colors and finishes to our parts. Now, SolidWorks has multiple different ways to do this and I want to start over here on the left-hand side of my screen with the material. So, I've got two blocks here on the screen and notice I have two solid bodies as well, but I can choose the material right over here and I can say, "Hey, I'd like to apply a material," and I've got some basic ones right over here. But you can also click on Edit Material at the top there. And you should get a window that looks a lot like this one here. And notice we've got all these different steels, irons, aluminum, copper, and so on. You have all this available material. In fact, you can even create custom materials down here, so, we can just assign any one of these things. So I can say, "Hey, I want to use, well," "let's go use some iron," right? How about some ductile iron? And notice if I select this material, it also applies…
