Connect to Wi-Fi and Ethernet

- [Instructor] The Raspberry Pi can be run without a network connection and is often used for data collection in the field, where there is no internet. However, most versions of the Raspberry Pi have wired or Wi-Fi ethernet connectors. Models with a wired ethernet connection will be obvious. The Raspberry Pi Zero and the Raspberry Pi Pico do not have wired ethernet plugs. If you need ethernet on these versions, you can buy an additional board to add this capability, but the cost will be about the same as one of the larger Raspberry Pi models with ethernet built in. Now, this changes when we discuss Wi-Fi. Current models of the Raspberry Pi, including models 3B, 4, and Zero W, have built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. For models that don't have built-in Wi-Fi, it is a simple matter to use a USB Wi-Fi plug. Most of them work fine, but there are some older models that don't.
