Routing the PCB, part 1

Routing the PCB, part 1

- [Instructor] We have a physical printed circuit board with its component symbols placed. Let's connect these components using conductive traces to make this PCB functional. Go to your Design Workflow window, then select Interconnect. Under Shapes, let's choose a rectangular shape, because we're going to place a ground copper pour. So choose Package Geometry, set it to Etch and we'll replace the ground on the bottom of the printed circuit board. Set Dynamic Copper for the shape fill and instead of Dummy Net we want actual ground, which is GND, click OK. Now, I'm going to draw this rectangle. If I try to draw this rectangle however, with these route keep-in constraint, then my copper pour will be kept in the constraint. So I need to expand this to give me a little bit more room. I will right-click and choose Cancel, then let's go into a different edit mode. Right-click and go into Shape Edit. This constraint is a shape, and it's the route keep-in all. Go ahead and right-click it…
